2-TIME CHAMP BERDYCH IS BACK; GASQUET SET FOR STOCKHOLM DEBUT

 DAY 4 PREVIEW: Second-round singles action concludes at the If Stockholm Open on Thursday with the first matches of the week for No. 1 seed Tomas Berdych and No. 2 seed Richard Gasquet. Berdych is back in the Swedish capital for the sixth time and riding an 8-match event win streak. The World No. 5 won the Stockholm title in 2012 (d. No. 7 Tsonga) and 2014 (d. No. 10 Dimitrov). He begins his 2015 campaign against 83rd-ranked German , who is seeking his first win over a Top 10 player. At 18, Zverev is the youngest player in the Top 175 of the Emirates ATP Rankings. Also on Centre Court, Gasquet makes his Stockholm debut against Steve Darcis, who last month clinched Belgium’s first berth in the final since 1904. The man whom Darcis defeated to do so, Federico Delbonis of Argentina, features in Thursday’s first singles match against No. 6 seed Jeremy Chardy. Play concludes with an unlikely match-up of former Top 10 players as 2013 champion meets lucky loser Nicolas Almagro. One day after falling in qualifying, Almagro was back on court Tuesday instead of his countryman Daniel Muñoz-de la Nava, who withdrew with gastroenteritis. One Spaniard’s loss was another’s gain as Almagro saved two match points to beat in the Finn’s final singles match.
