Cornegy, Jr. EDUCATION TH FAX: (212) 788-8951 COUNCIL MEMBER, 36 DISTRICT, BROOKLYN FINANCE STATE AND FEDERAL LEGISLATION [email protected] Dear Grandparents, Seniors and Friends, This past year has been monumental for our senior population with losses and uncertainties. As we navigate a global pandemic, many of us look forward to this Spring 2021 and future springs to come. With the changes of the season ahead, we find a renewed sense of hope throughout our community. I must extend a thanks to all community senior advocates and supporters that continued to keep seniors safe during this time. Our partners were able to meet the needs of thousands of seniors on a direct and remote basis. Our local and neighboring providers made this Grandparenting and Seniors Resource Guide possible. We are reminded every minute that we are still amid the worst public health crisis of our lifetimes, during a time of racial unrest, economic distress, and political duress, one thing is clear: We will overcome this. 2020 was a year of great loss, challenge, struggle, and pain. But it was also a year marked by hope and progress. We are now working to ensure that every New Yorker will have access to COVID 19 vaccines, and that all our district has the resources we need during this challenging time. In the pandemic of systemic racism-We continue to demand change. Our criminal justice system must be fixed, and we are committed to doing the hard work to reform it. I traveled in person and then virtually to every corner of the district to hear from Brooklynites about issues impacting them. It is an honor to represent every resident of Bed-Stuy and northern Crown Heights. Despite the obstacles, we accomplished so much this year. New challenges and opportunities await us this 2021. If you are a senior, grandparenting caregiver or relative with a senior in your life, it is my hope that this Grandparents and Seniors Guide will become a great resource for you, too. Wishing you all the best in your endeavors in the years ahead,

Honorable Robert E. Cornegy Jr.
