Only one- third of them survive. In case of the conjoined twins, what is important is the point at which these twins are joined and whether they share one organ. Team effort is very important in such surgeries and one has to be careful when anaesthesia is admin- istered,” he said. The doctors said very few similar surgeries have been possible in the world till date in which both the children have survived surgical separation. The KGMU team separated the conjoined twins who were thoraco omphalopagus twins.
