Subject: A/C Compressor

Bulletin Summary: When operating the a/c in mild or cool ambient temperatures, the a/c compressor may make an unusual noise or rattle when the clutch engages. The noise is cavitation in the compressor and is contributed to the gas charge used inside the thermal expansion valve (TXV) power element. To resolve the noise complaint, the advice in the bulletin is to replace the original TXV with part number ACW6040220 that uses a different gas charge.

The TSB also listed the model serial numbers for the introduction of P/N: ACW6040220.

Subject: A/C Control Panel Displays “02”

Bulletin Summary: If the a/c control panel displays error “02” and the system is not cooling, check for a faulty low pressure switch (LPS). The switch has been improved and a new part number assigned.

The LPS is located in the cab roof and is accessible by removal of the inspection cover on the roof. It is not necessary to discharge the a/c system to change the low pressure switch. Subject: Engine Fan Runs In Reverse Continuously

Bulletin Summary: Some model year 2018 (J serial number) WR9900 Model Series windrowers have reported the engine fan running in reverse continuously. The failure mode is a result of borderline tolerance of current being supplied to pin-36 at the MC088 controller. The circuit within the controller for the reversing fan is not handling the voltage spike from the solenoid changing position.

The issue is resolved with software release 209 (3.00.20) in addition to following the instructions in the TSB about relocating a wire at the MC088 controller (1).

NOTE: All controllers and the console must be at the latest software version.

Symptoms related to the a/c: • The a/c performance and the high side pressure is normal for the first 10-15 minutes or until the engine reaches operating temperature. • The a/c service technician will observe excessive high side pressure.

HD and Off-road vehicles work in environments that can contribute to poor a/c performance issues and due to the size of the equipment requires servicing at the job site on many occasions.

The HD/Off-road a/c service technician often has to rely on different methods to troubleshooting and diagnosis an ongoing a/c performance complaint. These included; • Pressure reading • Recording line temperatures using contact temperature probes • Calculating sub-cooling • Calculating super heat • Replacing $$$ components • etc..

In todays environment, service technicians are looking for a better and faster way to diagnosis without having to walk around the vehicle and manually take readings to better understand what is happening inside the a/c system.

The service technician is looking for a way to connect to the vehicles a/c system and record data much like plugging into a vehicles on-board diagnostic port to perform a CAN-trace. Clip Art

AGCO Technical Service and Support evaluated the Yellow Jacket ManTooth™ PTV Automotive Kit in 2018 for use in HD/Off-Road.

The following is an overview of some of the features and benefits of the ManTooth™ App experienced during the evaluation.

Setup was easy

• Download the YJ ManTooth™ App available for iOS and Android devices

Languages: English, Spanish, • To quickly find the app, type key word, “ManTooth” French, German and Dutch

• On the mobile device, turn on the Bluetooth

• Turn on the ManTooth™ devices

• Pair the devices (consult the user manual)

• The mobile device App displays vacuum, pressures, temperatures, superheat and sub-cooling data.

• Data logging begins automatically when the users clicks “Start Session”.

• The data log and screenshots can be Saved or Saved & Emailed.

High Side condenser line clamp plugs into HS ManTooth. The line temperature is used in the subcooling calculation.

Low Side suction line clamp plugs into LS ManTooth. The line temperature is used in the superheat calculation.

When possible, the preference is to attach the line clamps; • HS close to the condenser outlet. ManTooth LS & HS devices • LS close to the evaporator outlet. Smaller temp clamp strap

The technician can sit in the operators seat and monitor a/c system pressures and temperatures on the app. No need to stand beside the vehicle watching the manifold gauges.

The ManTooth™ app allows the a/c service technician to remain out of the engine compartment at the rear of the combine.

The service technician is able to monitor the system pressures and temperatures from inside the service truck and screen share when necessary via TeamViewer app.

After the P/T session is started, the user can capture screenshots by touching the camera icon.

The user has two options on what to do with the screenshot, Save or Save & Email.

To end the P/T session, tap SAVE.

Two options display at the bottom of the screen about what to do with the data log.

The data logging generates a .csv report that the user can Save or Save & Email.

• Data is logged at 1-second intervals.

The service technician is able to view and capture Enthalpy screenshots throughout the P/T session.

The Pressure-Enthalpy diagram provides the user with information about the state and the behavior of the refrigerant.

 Much work has gone into capturing the refrigerant capacities dating back to the early 1970’s. In some rare vintage cases, refrigerant information and refrigerant capacity is missing, but will be added once identified.
