To be eligible to participate in the Youth Olympic Games, the male athletes must be born between 1 January 2001 and 31 December 2002. For female athletes they must be born between 1 January 2003 and 31 December 2003.
Additional IF criteria Athletes who have participated in FIG senior competitions or multisport games (including continental championships and world cup events) may not participate in the Youth Olympic Games. All NOCs, as well as candidates for NOC Universality Places and the host country, must have participated in their Junior Continental Championship (or any other continental qualifying event approved by the FIG). Hold a valid FIG License until the end of the YOG 2018 Artistic Gymnastics competitions.
D. QUALIFICATION PATHWAY
All qualified athletes for the YOG must compete in the multi-discipline event.

HOST COUNTRY PLACES
The host country will automatically qualify one (1) male and one (1) female athlete, on the condition that the athletes meet the eligibility requirements described under section C.
The host country places will be allocated to the best ranked eligible gymnast of the respective Junior Continental qualification event by name.
UNIVERSALITY PLACES
Two (2) Universality Places (one (1) man and one (1) woman) will be made available to eligible NOCs at the YOG, subject to the athletes meeting the required technical level and the eligibility criteria defined under section C.
The International Olympic Committee will invite all eligible NOCs to submit their requests for Universality Places by 15 January 2017. The Tripartite Commission will confirm, in writing, the allocation of invitation places to the relevant NOCs, in collaboration with FIG, as of 13 March 2017. The NOCs will have until 31 March 2017 to confirm the use of their places to the Tripartite Commission.
E. CONFIRMATION PROCESS FOR QUOTA PLACES
CONFIRMATION OF QUALIFICATION PLACES
As of 29 April 2018, the FIG will inform all qualification places to NOCs immediately following the completion of each Junior Continental Championship (or any other continental qualifying event approved by FIG)
As of 13 May 2018, the NOCs will then have two (2) weeks, to confirm to FIG and BAYOGOC if they wish to use the quota places, as detailed in section G. Qualification Timeline.
CONFIRMATION OF HOST COUNTRY PLACES
The host country must confirm to the FIG and BAYOGOC by 7 July 2018, no later than two (2) weeks after the completion of the Continental Junior Championships or qualification event, the participation of its athletes.

HOST COUNTRY PLACES
The host country will automatically qualify one (1) male and one (1) female athlete, on the condition that the athletes meet the eligibility requirements described under section C.
The host country place will be allocated to the best ranked eligible pair at the 2018 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships event by name.

The FIG will inform all qualification places to NOCs immediately following the completion of the 2018 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships.
The NOCs will then have two (2) weeks until 23 April 2018, to confirm to FIG and BAYOGOC if they wish to use the quota places, as detailed in section G. Qualification Timeline. CONFIRMATION OF HOST COUNTRY PLACES
The host country must confirm to the FIG and BAYOGOC by no later than two (2) weeks after the completion of the 2018 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships the participation of its athletes.
F. REALLOCATION OF UNUSED QUOTA PLACES
REALLOCATION OF UNUSED QUALIFICATION PLACES
Should an NOC decline, or not be able to use an allocated quota place, the place will be reallocated to the next eligible NOC from the same continent.
In case this qualification place must be reallocated to a different continent because of lack of participating NOCs, then this place will be reallocated in order of priority as follows:

REALLOCATION OF UNUSED HOST COUNTRY PLACES
Should the host country qualify through 2018 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships or should the host country be unable to fulfil the conditions as detailed in section C., or should the host country decline the allocated quota place, then the places will be reallocated to the next best ranked NOC from Americas.
In case this host country place must be reallocated to a different continent because of lack of participating NOCs, then this place will be reallocated in order of priority as follows:
