ADMINISTRATORS’ MESSAGE Mr. Tom Hazzard, Principal Ms. Darcie Eschyschyn, Vice Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians

May is here! (Already?)

May has certainly crept upon us in a hurry. The cool weather is certainly not telling us that it is spring and that Track and Field is just around the corner. One cannot wait until all that mud and water subsides so we can move on with spring.

In Meath Park Public School in the month of May you will see us wrap up the badminton season and set our focus on year end activities. There will be the onset of class outings, graduation, immunizations, spring photos, career presentations and pizza sales.

If you did not have a chance to be a part of parent teacher interviews in April be sure to contact your child’s teacher in regards to any issues or concerns you may have. Before you know it, June will be here.

This month we will celebrate the accomplishments of 22 grade twelve students. Meath Park Public School will celebrate their graduation on Friday, May 27th with a banquet starting at 5:30 p.m. and the exercises open to the public around 7:00 p.m.

All of our students continue to work on their writing skills. We have seen some terrific work being done in regards to writing in our school.

Please check out the rest of this newsletter for important dates and events going on in the months of May and June. Have a great month and enjoy the first long weekend of summer

Tom Hazzard / Darcie Eschyschyn

Nut Alert Reduce the Risk The Rivers School Division and the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region recommend that all Prince Albert and Area School communities work to “reduce the risk” for all students with life threatening allergies (anaphylaxis) by taking the strong initiative and commitment to become Nut Alert. Please read the Nut Alert information below that provides the rationale for this initiative. Meath Park School will continue their school-wide campaign to provide the safest environment possible for children with life threatening allergies (anaphylaxis) immediately. For more information contact me, the school principal, or a public health nurse. APPROXIMATELY ONE TO TWO PERCENT OF CANADIANS LIVE WITH LIFE-THREATENING ALLERGIES. MOST OF US KNOW SOMEONE WHO DOES. FOOD IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE. STRICT AVOIDANCE OF SPECIFIC FOODS IS NECESSARY. ASK YOUR CHILD TO BE A PAL: PROTECT A LIFE FROM FOOD ALLERGIES. - DO NOT SHARE FOOD - WASH HANDS AFTER EATING - AVOID TAKING FOOD TO SCHOOL THAT OTHERS MAY BE ALLERGIC TO. HELP MAKE SCHOOL A SAFE PLACE FOR EVERYONE!
