STRATEGY AND CONTACTS FOR THE INCLUSION OF ROMA ORGANISATIONS

In the Campaign at European and national levels

1. Establishing database with contacts of potential Roma NGO partners and participants during the Campaign;

2. Informing and involving the European/International Roma organisations and networks:

The DYS/Campaign Secretariat should take up contacts with the political leadership of the active European/International Roma organisations and networks in view of developing co- operation and active involvement of the above.

The following activities could be taken into consideration in view of the objective:

- Preparation of information letters with the description of the short outline of the Campaign as well as underlining the co-operation/participation possibilities within the national and European level events; - Providing the Campaign educational/publicity materials (Campaign “Toolkit, Campaign “Information pack”, etc.); - Taking up direct contacts trough e-mails, phone calls, etc.; - Organise individual or group meeting were appropriate; - If considered appropriate prepare application for expression of interest for participation and co-operation within the Campaign.

3. Taking up contacts with the Roma EU Parliamentarians in view of inviting them to participate as Ambassadors of the Campaign.

4. Establishing fund for supporting pilot Roma Youth projects/initiatives during (potentially also after) the Campaign:

Such fund could be established on the initiative of the DYS and further could be operated by the DYS/EYF as part of the Campaign Pilot local youth projects and initiatives. The following fundraising activities might be taken into consideration:

⇒ Establishing contracts with the Roma Education Fund in view of developing co-funding strategy for supporting Roma Youth projects in the area of non-formal education in the fields of antiracism and human rights education and intercultural education.

4 ⇒ Prepare information note for the spring session of the MG-S-ROM, CoE aimed at informing the various actors participating about the campaign. Take up direct contacts with MG-S- ROM representatives in view of verifying/securing governmental support for Roma activities in the national-level Campaigns. ⇒ Organise meeting/s with some of the Ambassadors to the Permanent Representations of countries, which are interested in supporting activities in the field of Roma issues, such as: Finland, Norway, Japan, etc.

5. Involvement of Roma Youth and traditional NGOs in the preparation and implementation of the national-level Campaigns.

- Trough providing information and taking up contacts with European Roma organisations/networks. - Trough providing direct information to local and national Roma NGOs. - Trough NYC. - Trough encouraging the NCCs to undertake proactive approach in the involvement of Roma NGO members and partners and providing them with the necessary contacts; - Trough facilitation of the communication and co-operation processes, via dissemination of application forms for expression of forms for participation and direct contacts.

7. Involvement of the Roma media in the Campaign:

Organise small information meeting with representatives of different Roma media in order to define the Campaign information strategies and activities with the Roma community and to identify possible co-operation activities.
