Associate Logistics Coordinator

Position Summary:

Responsible for supporting the Logistics Department within the Kilbourn Plant. The individual will be responsible for: maintaining key documentation; scheduling appointments with carriers and vendors; creating purchase orders, developing strong working relationships with corporate counterparts; take ownership of maintaining and communicating identified KPI’s; and be assigned to various Special Projects that are in alignment with Plant Goals and business objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 Manage the logistical flow into and out of the plant by overseeing dock appointments for finished goods and raw materials.  Track, maintain, and communicate key identified KPI’s.  Manage department documentation.  Support the plant’s TPM initiatives.  Participate in special projects that are in alignment with Plant Goals and business objectives.

Challenges:

This position requires flexibility and a strong commitment to detail. Kilbourn is a high-volume and fast moving plant filled with complexity, therefore good decision making skills are necessary and the ability to work cross-functionally internally and externally is a must. Must also have the following skills: ability to work alone and in a team, strong organization skills, ability to prioritize workload, and effectively communicate both internally and externally.

Scope:

Play a key role in promoting the Kilbourn Plant’s objectives and serve as a key member of the Kilbourn team. The individual will work closely with all areas of the plant and report directly to the Logistics Manager. In addition must be experienced in SAP, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and have good computer skills.

Key Requirements:

 Education Minimum High School Graduate, College degree preferred.  Experience Minimum of 2 year experience in customer service, manufacturing, transportation or warehouse operations.

Skills:

 Problem Solving Must be able to evaluate risks and prioritize activities to promote a Safe work environment and meet customer expectations.  Communication must be able to communicate effectively with site personnel, corporate teammates, and 3rd party vendors.  Computer/PC Skills Must have knowledge of SAP Materials Management module, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.  Must possess excellent organizational skills and be attentive to detail.  Continuous Improvement Must embrace change in a fast paced environment constantly looking to improve on current processes.  Dedication to supporting and playing a key role in the success of the plant.  Must display the willingness and ability to operate and make decisions independently and as part of a team. Must be driven to deliver products safely and of high quality while working towards achieving world class customer service.  Ability to make good decisions that are in alignment with company and plant guidelines.  Accurate and timely execution of work is essential to success. Timely and relevant communication with other groups is required.
