GAME RECAP: vs Windsor Spitfires

After coming off a tough 6-2 home loss to Sarnia last w eekend, the w ere unable to maintain their offensive rhythm found in the early going Thursday at the WFCU Centre, allow ing four consecutive goals for a 7-5 defeat to the Windsor Spitfires.

GAME RECAP: vs Guelph Storm

Saginaw w ould carry the momentum into the third period. Islanders 2018 second round pick Bode Wilde scored his first OHL on the pow erplay to bring the Spirit w ithin tw o. With 4:27 left in the third, Coskey added a pow erplay goal for his second of the game. Bode Wilde and Spirit leading scorer Albert Michnac assisted on the play. San Jose Sharks first round pick Ryan Merkley had the puck on his stick in the dying seconds of the game, but turned it over on a clearing attempt to Cole Coksey. Coskey tapped the puck in front to Red Wings prospect Brady Gilmour, completing the comeback w ith just eight seconds left in the third period to force overtime.

Despite the five goal regulation comeback, Cedric Ralph completed his hat trick at 3:35 of overtime on a tw o-on- one rush w ith Liam Haw el.

Everett, Porco Players to Watch for 2019 NHL Draft

44 players from the Ontario Hockey League have been listed among NHL Central Scouting’s October ‘Players to Watch’ list for the 2019 NHL Draft w hich takes place June 21-22 in Vancouver, BC. The 44 players is part of a greater total of 110, w hich includes 35 players from the Western Hockey League and 31 from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Saginaw Spirit w ill host the annual Pink Out game brought to you by St. Mary's of Michigan on October 27th against the Niagara Ice Dogs. The night marks a celebration for survivors of breast cancer along w ith raising aw areness. The Saginaw Spirit w ill be w earing special Pink Out themed jerseys that w ill be auction off follow ing the game. $13.00 fundraising tickets w ill be available again this season w ith $5.00 of the proceeds going back to the St Mary's of Michigan Breast Care Fund.
