As much as I love being with to hand on and to share the gifts and wisdom that some you, the people of Old St. Pat’s, every Sunday I am really of my mentors joyfully handed on to me. NEVER BE ORDINARY . WISDOM FROM MY FATHER By Fr. John Cusick

This might be a good gift for Fathers’ Day or a belated graduation gift. Someone told to me that it was given to an “expectant father” at a Baby Shower. I believe you will enjoy it, too.

First published in December 2018, it sold out quickly. It is available again from the publisher (corbybooks.com) and Amazon.com.

I must admit that I am excited about it. For years I had “writers’ block.” I never believed that I would or could write a book. I talk for a living. Writing is a very di!erent form of the English language.

It is a short little book made up of seven pieces of wisdom I remember my dad telling me during the 25 years he was a part of my life. It is not a book of brilliant insights. It is a book of common-sense wisdom you have probably heard or said to others during your life. If you have heard me speak, teach, or preach during the past 48 years, then you have heard the contents of “Never Be Ordinary.” I have appropriated the street-smart wisdom of George Cusick into my own life, and passed it on to anyone willing to listen.

From the Publisher:

“This is a warm and wonderful tribute from a son to his father. But it is more than that. When the author was growing up, he did not pay close attention to things his father, an ordinary man, said to him. Yet years later, as he looked back on his life, he realized how much his father’s words really did in"uence his life. Here Father Cusick presents 7 key things his father taught him.”

“Never Be Ordinary” is available on Amazon and directly from the publisher, Corby Books. I hope you enjoy this little book half as much as I did writing it, and remembering all the experiences wrapped around what I recall my dad telling me. Available at: corbybooks.com and Amazon.com

- John Cusick

Recently Pope Francis said, “Today’s world seems to be increasingly !lled with indi#erence and cynicism. At the root of these attitudes is a lack of Hope which harms our relationships with each other and with God.” The most apparent solution is an infusion of Faith, Hope and Love. That has been and continues to be the primary goal of the Faith Foundation.

Over the past fourteen years the Faith Foundation has given out 233 grants totaling over $950,000. We, on the committee, realize that without your thoughtfulnesss and generosity none of this great work and blessings would have been possible.
