We cannot go to Northumberland so this is an opportunity for you to come and join us for a virtual visit to Alnwick Castle, (pronounced “Annick”), which dates from 1096 and has been home to the Percy family, Dukes of Northumberland, for 700 years. It is one of the largest inhabited castles in England, second only to Windsor Castle. It has been used as settings for Harry Potter films and you will recognize it as Hogwarts School. It has also featured in the series Downton Abbey. The castle houses some wonderful decorative art as well as a history of the Percy family’s achievements.
This is a unique opportunity for a private guided Zoom tour of the Castle at a time when we are all currently restricted from making any visits. It is also the chance to see a fascinating historic building too far distant for a day’s visiting from London.
The visit will take place on Zoom on Wednesday 9th December 2020 at 11am and will last approximately 1 hour. The cost of this visit is £5 pp.
Nearer the time you will receive a link to join the Zoom tour.
