Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP) The Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP) training has been developed by the Home Office. This multi-agency training is designed to help staff recognise and support people who are vulnerable to radicalisation or to being influenced by extremism. Alongside other safeguarding training it is important for all staff who work with children, young people and adults to know how to recognise those who are Event description vulnerable to radicalisation and how to access appropriate support. The Suffolk Prevent Delivery Group oversees work across the county to prevent people from becoming radicalised or involved in extremist activity. The key strand of this work is to encourage as many frontline staff as possible to attend the WRAP training so that more people who are vulnerable to radicalisation are identified and receive the intervention and support that they need. Course members should be aware that this is a practical course involving reaching, and wading rescues, recovery of manikins from pool floor, be able to fully submerge up to 1.2m depth, lifting, moving and turning others in water. If you are a DSL whose training isn’t due for renewal for another six Event description months or more, or are an experienced governor or trustee who attended safeguarding training over six months ago you may find it helpful to attend a new session which we have developed. The course does not replace your usual DSL training, named governor or routine governor training. You should still do this training when due for renewal but we thought helpful to provide this session this year because the amendments to these documents are so significant.

The session, which will last up to 75 minutes, will give an overview of the Objectives/Outcomes key changes in both documents and the impact on responsibilities for school staff, the DSL team and governing boards and proprietors. There are 10 2-hour sessions covering general aspects of communication difficulties, and support strategies. Learners will complete a short assignment or portfolio task each week.

Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP) The Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP) training has been developed by the Home Office. This multi-agency training is designed to help staff recognise and support people who are vulnerable to radicalisation or to being influenced by extremism. Alongside other safeguarding training it is important for all staff who work with children, young people and adults to know how to recognise those who are Event description vulnerable to radicalisation and how to access appropriate support.
