SPEIGHT’S GOLD MEDAL

Beer Style Draught Amber Ale First Brewed 1876 Alcohol Level 4.0

P R H I T D U E O O F T H E S The legend begins here. In 1880 Speight’s enters it’s flagship ale into the Melbourne Exhibition. It cleans up, winning 2 gold medals and gets a new name; Gold Medal Ale is born. Speight’s is the beer of choice after a hard day’s work. Probably the least sweet of all New Zealand beers, this characteristic allows the full flavour of the malt and to shine through. Speight’s Gold Medal Ale is a great accompaniment to any meat dish and is superb with Southern game dishes such as venison, duck and rabbit.

SPEIGHT’S SUMMIT

Beer Style Lager First Brewed 2008 Alcohol Level 4.0

Speight’s Summit is a refreshing golden lager. Brewed for a crisp, clear result, this lager’s definitely earned its alpine name. We brewed Summit by blending fresh, light malts with a subtle fruity hop flavour. The toasted, natural malts give the beer its distinct golden colour, while the hops add a clean, crisp finish. It’s the same finish that makes Summit such a refreshing brew, perfect for fish and chips with the lads or even a spicy curry.

SPEIGHT’S SUMMIT ULTRA

Beer Style Lager First Brewed 2017 Alcohol Level 4.2

Summit Ultra is a refreshing golden lager with a crisp finish. Brewed for longer it has 75% less carbs than regular beer, making it the perfect way to wash down a hard workout with your mates. Summit Ultra balances crisp refreshment with great taste, so you can enjoy a full flavoured beer without all the carbs. The crisp hop bitterness make this brew a great match for fresh seafood and spicy dishes.

SPEIGHT’S TRIPLE HOP

Beer Style Pilsner First Brewed 2002 Alcohol Level 4.0

The balanced blend of aromatic hops gives this classic pilsner its full flavour with a clean finish. The thirst quencher to share with mates. A real pilsner true to its traditions, Triple Hop Pilsner uses three distinct hops; one for bitterness at the beginning and two for aroma added later in the brew. The moment you spark up the barbecue is the moment to take the top off a Triple Hop Pilsner, perfect beer match with anything from the sea; snapper or cod you choose. SPEIGHT’S OLD DARK

Beer Style Dark Ale First Brewed 1991 Alcohol Level 4.0

If you’re looking for a beer with a big creamy flavour you’ve come to the right place. 5 malt old dark was introduced into the Speight’s range in 1992 to meet consumer demands for the classic ‘dark’ beer. No prizes for guessing why it got its name. By carefully selecting, roasting and matching 5 separate malts we have crafted a dark beer that gives rich, creamy, chocolate fudge flavours swiftly followed by coffee overtones. Perfect for warming the cockles on a stormy night. Best drunk with some fine New Zealand cheeses or chocolate desserts.

SPEIGHT’S DISTINCTION ALE

Beer Style Traditional Dark Ale First Brewed 1994 Alcohol Level 4.0

This is a dark lager style beer. It sets itself apart from typical through the subtle sweetness of slightly caramelised malts with relatively little hop bitterness or flavour from the Green Bullet & Pacific Jade hops. The darker speciality malts provide a more complex malty caramel flavour that gives this brew a well rounded character.

SPEIGHT’S EMPIRE ALE Beer Style IPA First Brewed 2010 Alcohol Level 5.5

Speight’s Empire is a 5.5% ABV Indian brewed with Pale Ale Malt plus Caramalt and Roasted Malts for some extra caramelised maltiness and a deep amber colour. A generous addition of Kohatu hops is used late in the Kettle boil to produce fruity, spicy aromas and flavour with a smooth, clean bitterness.

SPEIGHT’S MID ALE

Beer Style Ale First Brewed 2014 Alcohol Level 2.5

We don’t usually do things in halves, but it seemed like a good idea to give you people a good, full flavoured 2.5% beer. Brewed using Crystal, Caramalt and Chocolate malts, Speight’s Mid Ale enjoys a smooth caramelised flavour and aroma, which is contrasted by the bitterness of Pacific Jade and Green Bullet hops.

SPEIGHT’S APPLE CIDER Beer Style Cider First Brewed 2011 Alcohol Level 4.6

A crisp, clean, dry cider. Speight’s Cider is the refreshing way to conquer your thirst, best served over ice. Made with New Zealand apples, our Cider is Speight’s to the core. It is crisp, dry and nothing but refreshing. Speight’s cider compliments many dishes perfectly, but is perhaps best enjoyed with anything grilled over flames; pork ribs, chicken and grilled seafood are particularly great matches. BEER
