2015 ANNUAL REPORT 2015: A Year in Review Our First Year Together The year 2015 saw the first full and very exciting year of the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation. Our Board of Directors, Leaders Network, and Foundation Ambassadors Network (FAN) all have grown, as has our supporter base, and we were able to give back more than ever before. In support of our mission to promote opportunity and None of this would have been possible without the generous equality for women and girls in New Hampshire through support from you, our donors and supporters, over 1,000 research, education, philanthropy and advocacy, we strong. Our grant-making allowed us to support Cotton Cleveland Mary Johanna Brown 17 different nonprofits in 2015, thanks in part to our Interim President & CEO Board Chair partnership with the HNH Foundation. Gender Matters is the signature publication of the NH Women’s Foundation and is released quarterly. In 2015 we worked with NH Center for Public Policy to gather NH data on topics including: Paid Sick Leave, Paid Family and Medical Leave, and Women in the Board Room. Read the pieces online: nhwomensfoundation.org/gendermatters Brought to you by Additional support provided by Education The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation seeks to raise awareness of key issues for women and girls through a continuing series of educational events. 2015 events included the New Hampshire Women’s Heritage Trail “27 Women” event to celebrate Women’s History Month; a Portsmouth Music Hall screening of the documentary, She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry, in May, showcasing the women who founded the modern women’s movement from 1966 to 1971; and our annual Women Building Community event in November featuring keynote speaker, MomsRising CEO and co-founder, Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner discussing Changing Workplaces: Why Family-Friendly Workplaces Matter. As NH Women’s Foundation began its focus on championing family-friendly workplace practices and policies in the Granite State, we gained great perspective from Kristin and her national lens on this critical work for all families and employers. Advocacy Our mission includes raising awareness across New Hampshire communities about issues pertinent to our agenda. In 2015 we began an organizational focus on Family-Friendly Workplaces. As part of that initiative, we collaborated with author and paid- leave advocate Josh Levs to bring the topics of Family Friendly Workplaces and Paid Family Leave to the forefront of business, community, and political conversations across the Granite State. Philanthropy Supporting organizations which provide direct services to women, girls and families is another way that NH Women’s Foundation works to promote gender equality in New Hampshire.
