O.N.-· WHEREAS Goa Congress which is a recognised State Party in the State of Goa WIth the symbol 'Two leaves' reserved fo r it in the said State has inti rna- 41 R-37/89

t- ted .the Election Commission of India that the party had merged with Indian NatlOnaI Congre:'\s which is a National Party and had as a consequence thereof cease� to exist and had made a request to delete the name Goa Congr�ss fr om the lIst of State Parties and to freeze its reserved symbol 'Two l�aves' 51) fa r as the State of Goa is co-ncerned ;

AND WHEREAS the Election Commission of India has received no ohjection or representation fr om any other quarter to the said merger . of Goa Cong 'ess with Indian National Congress.

AND WHEREAS on the basis of records and documents made available to it, Election Commission is satisfied that Goa Congress has ceased to exist as a separate political party consequent to its merger with the Indian National Cong­ ress and has therefore, decided to delete the name of Goa Congress from the list of State Parties and to freeze its resen,ed svmbol. 'Two leave5' so fa r as t he Slate of Goa is concerned.
