POTTERS MARSTON PARISH MEETING Minutes of a meeting held at the Council Offices, Narborough TUESDAY, 12 JANUARY 2010 Parishioners Present:- G. Ge nt C. Harris G. Holt (Chairman) N. Holt J.Jones M. MINUTES The minutes of the meeting held on 7 May 2009 ,as circulated, were approved and signed as a correct record subject to an amendment under the heading (Travellers Sites paragraph 4 and the Decision) to read “Strategic Board” not “Cabinet Executive” 1 Potters Marston Parish Meeting - Tuesday, 12 January 2010 2. TO RECEIVE AN UPDATE ON THE CURRENT POSITION AND WHAT THE COUNCIL HAS DONE IN RESPECT OF SANDPIT FARM Councillor White updated the meeting in respect of the issues relating to Sandpit Farm. The Council’s Director of Operations and the Environmental Protection Group Manager went through the previous history of the site and the current situation, he also informed the meeting that they had visited the site and had met with the owner. The Director of Operations spoke in general the about some of the options available to the Council, and he went through the implications of each. The Director of Operations and the Environmental Protection Group Manager responded to the concerns and questions raised by Cllr D Freer, Parishioners, and Members of Thurlaston Parish Council in respect of the numerous incidents and issues relating to the site. The meeting was then advised that after the research had been carried out into the options that may be available to the Council a report would be submitted to the Council’s Cabinet Executive for their consideration. It was noted that the Potters Marston Parish Meeting would then be informed of any outcome. 3. GRIT BOX ON PINGLE LANE The Chairman reported that he had contacted the Leicestershire County Council Highways Department to request a grit box to be placed in Potters Marston, and that to date he had not received a response. Councillor E White responded that he had contacted the Highways Department and that they had confirmed that Potters Marston was on the list. The Director of Operations informed the meeting that Leicestershire County Council would no longer provide grit boxes and that if one was required it would have to be purchased from the Leicestershire County Council. 2 Potters Marston Parish Meeting - Tuesday, 12 January 2010 4. ANY OTHER BUSINESS Railway Bridge Reconstruction – Huncote Road The Chairman reported that Network Rail were due to carry out reconstruction work on the Huncote Road railway bridge, which is on the border of Potters Marston and Stoney Stanton. He informed the parishioners that he had not received any further information in respect of the proposed works and road closures. DECISION That the Clerk write to Network Rail regarding information on the railway bridge reconstruction work, and that the information be reported back to the residents of Potters Marston. 5.
