Makgadikgadi Pan - - Linyanti Game Reserve

Day 01: Maun - On your arrival in Maun you are met and assisted for your onward about one hour flight in south eastern direction to the Makgadikgadi Pans. Welcome to the Kalahari. It is important to be aware, that here you are not in a typical safari destination, yet in absolutely fascinating terrain. Jack’s Camp is located on a lonely palm covered island at the edge of the Makgadikgadi and offers the most unique opportunity to explore the Pans and understand the Kalahari. Enjoy a complete desert experience focusing on species unique to the area such as meerkats, brown hyena, oryx and springbok, as well as onto geology, archaeology and anthropology of the Makgadikgadi and Kalahari. Activities include mornings with the meerkats, game walks with Bushman trackers to observe desert wildlife, visits to the historical baobabs and night drives to view unique desert wildlife, such as aardvark and aardwolf. Day 02 & 03: Makgadikgadi Pan Enjoy 2 days in this absolute unique place. During the various activities your guide explains this totally different and extremely fascinating world. The Makgadikgadi, an extinct lake bigger than Switzerland, is one of the most important wetland sites remaining in Africa. In the wet season from about November to March, the Pans fill with water attracting flocks of flamingo and other migratory birds and in addition host the unique zebra migration. During dry season, such miracle can hardly be imagined, as you seem to be on a never-ending salt pan. At that time from about April to October guests can have extensive use of the 4x4 quad bikes as well as exploring undocumented archaeological sites and early hominid settlements. 2x Jack’s Camp B,L,D

The Vumbura Reserve offers some of Botswana’s best all year-round game viewing in an area that has a wonderful variety of habitats. Open 4x4 safari vehicles allow close proximity to animals in the savannah area and mokoros traverse the flood plains under the guidance of polers from the BaYei tribe. Water level permitting, boats take guests into the larger and deeper area of water and guided walks on the islands give guests the opportunity to experience Africa from a different perspective. 2x Vumbura Plains B,L,D

Day 07: Okavango Delta - Linyanti Game Reserve Today your journey continues further north to the Linyanti Game Reserve. Zarafa Camp is a small and intimate camp, which overlooks the vast savannas and floodplains of the Zibadianja Lagoon under cool and shady Jackalberry and Red Ivory forests. The uninterrupted views from every part of the camp over these productive floodplains are truly breathtaking. The emphasis here is on individual hospitality and privacy – an ultimate and romantic bush getaway. In the afternoon you may want to participate in a game activity offered by Zarafa Camp. This unique and remote area is home to elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, zebra, wildebeest, hippo, hyena, sable, wild dog, lechwe and plains game. With only 4 tents there is no set routine at Zarafa Camp. Zarafa Camp B,L,D

Day 08 & 09: Linyanti Game Reserve Enjoy your 2 wildlife days in this remote area. Activities at Zarafa Camp are flexible to suit guests' particular interests and include morning, afternoon and night game drives with experienced professional guides in 4x4 safari vehicles. Short guided nature walks from camp are carried out, to introduce guests to some of Africa's less prominent wildlife. Brunch or sundown cruises are offered on the Zibadianja pontoon on the lagoon and down a channel from the Selinda Spillway. Walks should however ideally be requested in advance. The midday siesta time can be spent at one of the waterholes. Zarafa Camp is located at a brilliant wildlife area and most often the best wildlife viewing at midday is from your spacious room. 2x Zarafa Camp B,L,D
