CHARLES HALEY HONORED AS PART OF HOMETOWN HALL OF FAMER™ PROGRAM PRESENTED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY LIFE OF LEGENDARY & CELEBRATED AT HIGH SCHOOL ALMA MATER IN NARUNA, VIRGINIA

NARUNA, VIRGINIA – The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Ford Motor Company paid tribute to Gold Jacket CHARLES HALEY at his high school alma mater William Campbell High School in Naruna, Va. on Wednesday as part of the Hometown Hall of Famer™ program. A crowd of more that 300 were on hand for the event. In the audience were Charles’s mother Virginia and two brothers, George and Lawrence.

Hometown Hall of Famer™ is a national program that honors the hometown roots of the greatest heroes of the game with special ceremonies and plaque dedication events in local communities.

"Without the great education here, without the people that believed in me here, then I would have no opportunity…and to realize that you’re the only one that can fulfill your dreams, no one can take your dreams away," Haley shared after being presented with the plaque by his brother Charles this week.

“Let me say how proud Ford is to participate in Charles Haley’s return to his hometown. Ford and the Pro Football Hall of Fame share a commitment to excellence and an appreciation for legacies,” Travis Hunt, Sales Operations Manager for Ford Motor Company, remarked.

Haley was a fourth-round draft pick to the and was traded in 1992 to the . Haley began his career at linebacker and led the 49ers in sacks in each of first six seasons. After his trade to Dallas, he moved to defensive end. Haley is the only NFL player to play on five winning teams and was a member of 10 division championship teams. Year, played in five Pro Bowls, was named All-Pro twice, and recorded six double-digit sack totals. Charles Haley was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015.

Wednesday’s event was the 103rd Hometown Hall of Famer™ ceremony. Haley’s high school was seventh recognized during events this spring. Other Hometown Hall of Famer™ events included: (Royalton High School in Little Falls, Minn.); (Booker T. Washington High School in Miami, Fla.); (Eisenhower High School in Rialto, Calif.); (White Plains High School in White Plains, N.Y.); (Clarke Central High School in Athens, Ga.); (King City High School in King City, Mo.).
