  • Solheim Cup, C&Rsquo;Est Parti

  • Rominger to Fly Swiss Flag at Evian by LET
13th July 2010 Rominger to fly Swiss flag at Evian by LET Switzerland’s top ranked female professional golfer Caroline Rominger is aiming for a strong performance when she competes at the Evian Masters presented by Société Générale for the second time from 22 – 25 July. Rominger made her debut at the tournament last year after receiving a wild card from the Evian Masters organisation and finished in 69th position. This year she is hoping to improve on that performance after receiving another wild card to compete and is thrilled to be visiting the Evian Masters Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains once again. She explained: “I feel really proud that I got the invite. I’m really happy and honoured. I got an invite last year as the best Swiss player and now I’ve got an invite again so I’m really happy. I didn’t expect it because it’s such a great tournament. I played okay last year and made the cut, made some money, so I’m looking forward to it. It’s by far the best tournament I’ve ever played in.” The 27-year-old second year Ladies European Tour player, who hails from the village of Pontresina, near the popular ski resort of St.Moritz, now resides in Zurich, so will have just a four hour drive around the lake from her home to the venue. It means that she will have plenty of travelling supporters lining the fairways, including friends, parents, sponsors and one of her two coaches, Regine Lauterns, the former Swiss national team coach.

  • Q-Link on Major Golf Tours
Q-LINK ON MAJOR GOLF TOURS The Q-Link pendant is currently worn by more than 300 touring professional golfers on the four major golf tours (PGA, Champions, LPGA, and European). It was worn by players during victories in more than 10 major golf championships. It was worn by the members of the European Ryder Cup team when it beat the U.S. in 2002. It was worn when the decades old PGA 72 hole scoring record was broken by Mark Calcavecchia. Congratulations go out to some of the recent tour winners, all of whom wore the Q-Link pendant during their victories: the 2005 Byron Nelson Classic (Ted Purdy) the 2005 U.S. Senior Open Championship (Allen Doyle) the 2005 U.S. Women's Open (Birdie Kim) the 2005 Women's British Open (Jeong Jang) and the 2005 Women's World Match Play Championship (Marisa Baena). Women’s Golf Tournament Program - 116 pages PING CELEBRATES 50 YEARS IN G OLF RICH HARVEST FARMS Fifty years ago, the first PING® putter was shipped from the Redwood City, California, garage of Karsten and Louise Solheim. The PING® 1A™ putter inaugurated a revolution in golf club design and manufacturing that would see Karsten’s company grow into a brand world-renowned for innovation and unequalled quality. Karsten, with his family at his side, went on to pioneer custom fitting and bring new processes to the manufacturing of golf clubs, including investment casting and heat treating. He recognized the value of scientific research and employed high speed cameras and a robotic golfer (The PING® Man) to analyze the dynamics of the golf club. His insistence on adhering to strict engineering principles and tight manufacturing tolerances raised the level of product performance and quality throughout the golf industry. It all led to more enjoyment for golfers all over the world. An engineer with an extensive background in the defense, aerospace and computer industries, he remains the only engineer to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. Among the game-changing products that will be forever associated with Karsten are the Anser® putter and EYE2® irons. BUNKER HILL His wife of 63 years, Louise, who turned 91 in June, vividly remembers RICH HARVEST FARMS the moment Karsten informed her of his new putter’s name. “He came Be careful running into the kitchen,” she recalled, “and said, ‘I’ve got a name for my putter.’ I said ‘That’s nice, honey,’ and we ate our hamburgers and Proud sponsorof the of LPGA flat green vegetables without any particular celebration.
