TV Calendar: Thanksgiving Shows and Specials 2019

This holiday weekend, networks are serving up an eclectic mix of new and nostalgic shows, films and specials to celebrate Turkey Day.

After ABC airs A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on Wednesday, viewers can feast their eyes on Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, the magical world of Harry Potter and more as December makes its arrival.

Wednesday, November 27

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (ABC, 8PM)

ABC kicks off the holiday with Snoopy, Charlie, and the rest of the classic Peanuts gang in its annual showing of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

Thursday, November 28

The 93rd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (NBC and CBS, 9AM ET/PT)

Celebrities, performances and the world's largest floats make their way across during the biggest tradition of them all: the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker host the three-hour event on NBC while Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier and Keltie Knight host on CBS. CBS' broadcast will also feature a special performance by country star Miranda Lambert.Â

NFL Football

Kick off the holiday weekend with three NFL football games: Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions (Fox, 12:30 p.m.), Buffalo Bills at Cowboys (NBC, 4:30 p.m.) and New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons (NBC, 8:15 p.m.).

Wizarding World Week, Thanksgiving Marathon (USA Network)

USA Network brings new meaning to "holiday magic" with a Harry Potter marathon through Saturday, Nov. 30. Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them kicks the marathon off, followed by all eight original Harry Potter movies.

The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration (ABC, 8PM)

On Thanksgiving night, celebrity hosts Matthew Morrison, Emma Bunton and Jesse Palmer help launch the Christmas season with special musical performances and a behind-the-scenes look into Disney's newest attraction, Star Wars: Rise of Resistance.Â

Merry Happy Whatever ()

Dennis Quaid, and Bridgit Mendler star in Netflix's eight-episode comedy about a dysfunctional, close-knit family who come together for the holidays.

Christmas at the Plaza (Hallmark, 8 PM)

An archival historian and a handsome decorator discover an unlikely romance in Hallmark's Christmas at the Plaza. Elizabeth Henstridge, Ryan Paevey, Bruce Davison and Julia Duffy star in the original movie, which lends itself to Hallmark's "Countdown to Christmas" programming slate.

Sugar Rush Christmas (Netflix)

In this special edition of Netflix's reality competition, bakers from around the world create holiday desserts adorned with candy canes, fondant and festive decorations and flavors.

Top Elf (Nickelodeon, 8PM)

Seven kid "Elf-testants" with extraordinary building and design skills compete in festive challenges to become Santa's "Top Elf" in Nickelodeon's new competition series. Premiering weekly, the series finale airs just before Christmas on Dec. 21.

The Christmas Show (Amazon Prime Video)

Amazon's first-ever holiday special features six-time Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves and an eclectic variety show narrated by Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy.

Christmas Town (Hallmark, 8PM)

Lauren Gabriel (​Candace Cameron Bure) rediscovers heart, family and the magic of Christmas in this Hallmark Original Move. Tim Rozon and Beth Broderick also star.
