Morris Dale Nelson Morris Dale Nelson, the youngest child of Peter T. and Mary Frances Goin Nelson was born July 12, 1925 on the family farm in Jefferson Township in Southeast Rawlins County, Kansas. He died November 8, 2006 in Norton County, Kansas at the age of 81. Valley View District #100 also known as the Raber School and “Old 100” was where Dale received 8 years of schooling. Upon completion of country school he attended Atwood High School graduating with the Unicel Incoming class of 1943. Dale and Mary Annette Pence Nelson were united in marriage April 17, 1949 at the Methodist Church in Colby, Kansas. They made their Calls home on the family farm where Dale was born and raised. Three children, Marilyn Ruth, Paul Terrance, and Marvin Dale blessed their home. Dale’s deep love for his Lord and Savior, Family and Friends, and the Land was evident in his daily life. Family gatherings, a roadside chat, a new baby calf, amber waves of grain, and the fresh smell of 4x10 rain, tilled soil, and mowed hay was what he enjoyed and daily thanked God for. Dale joins his parents, brother-in-law Duane West; sister Zelma L. (West) McDonald; son-in-law James Shriver; and brother Orvis L. Nelson in death.
