We used the power of flowers to give a special Guildford in Bloom twist to ‘a random act of kindness’ to create ‘An Act of Blooming Kindness’! With support and enthusiasm from students at the Halow Project, Project Aspire and Mayor of Guildford Cllr Richard Billington, we potted up and gave away 150 geranium plants to local residents in Park Barn, Onslow Village, Bellfields and Shalford. A further 25 geranium plants were given to shoppers in Guildford High Street in May. Guildford in Bloom is an annual initiative bringing together community groups, businesses, schools and residents to promote creative plant cultivation to naturally enhance our borough. Now in its 38th year, it champions health, well- being and team work while blending the Council’s corporate priorities of community, place making and innovation.
