FOOTBALL: Regional Tournament in Winter Tournament Week: Expression of Interest Dear All As you know NZSS Football are NOT running National tournaments this year due to COVID19 and it has been determined that regions can work together to determine their own tournament options. We understand from feedback that some schools would like at least a cross boundary type tournament at this time – This could include Bay of Plenty schools and possibly some invitations regions that we border. E.g. Hawkes Bay We table below some options around possible tournament details that could be initiated to gauge schools interest. A two-day competition with two- three games to be played each day. (If three shortened versions). Day one could be held in the Waikato area and Day two could be staged in the Bay of Plenty area or vice versa. Thus, no extensive travel, and eliminate major accommodation costs for those who wished not to do so. The possible venues could be Hamilton/Cambridge area for one day and Tauranga/Rotorua on the other day. Where possible we could use some schools to minimise costs. Each day matches could commence at 9.30am; 11.15am 1.30pm and 3.00pm The competition format could be like this example. Pools of Four. Each Pool play 3 matches – two on day one and third on day two morning. Then Day 2 afternoon is a crossover of pools which could be 1 v 1 / 2 v 2 / 3 V 3 and 4 v 4. We are asking all schools who play in in either the WSSFA and WaiBOP Tauranga competition who had entered the NZSSFA tournament to confirm if they are interested in a Two day tournament in some manner as suggested above. Please respond by return signed by your school Principal SCHOOL: ___________________________________________________ The above school expresses interest to seek a football tournament opportunity similar to the above outlined [circle] “GIRLS” “BOYS” PRINCIPAL NAME: ______________________________________________ PRINCIPAL SIGNATURE: __________________________________________ Attached is a reference for you of schools who entered originally in NZSSFA tournaments from our WaiBOP region.
