New Premier League season kicks off on Friday, August 9 The new Premier League season will get underway on Friday, August 9 with Liverpool v Norwich City, live on Sky Sports. Sky’s opening weekend coverage continues on Saturday, August 10 as Aston Villa return to the top flight with a trip to face Tottenham, who begin a first full season in their new stadium. The opening weekend culminates in Sky’s first Super Sunday of the season, with Arsenal making the trip to Newcastle United, before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer begins his first full season in charge of Manchester United with the visit of Europa League winners Chelsea.
