The Port Neches Middle School Band has had a successful 2018-2019 year. The band par- ticipated in many events during the school year. In the fall, the band competed in the Renaissance Festival for Performing Arts and received a superior rating. Students also competed for the TMEA Junior High All-Region Band. Several students were selected to the All-Region Band. In February, the PNMS Band competed in the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest; 131 superior rating and medals were awarded to the band members. In April the band competed in the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest. The Concert and Symphonic Bands received a sweepstakes trophy for superior ratings in concert and sight reading. This was the 28th year the Symphonic band has received a superior rating in concert. The Concert band received its 4th superior rating in UIL concert. The band ends the year with the annual spring concert in May. Matt LeBlanc is director of bands at PNMS and is assisted by Kayla Hargraves and Austin Wolfe.
