A Message from the Premier

As we head into 2020, ’s economy is the fastest growing in the , more Tasmanians are in work than ever before, and business conditions and confidence are the most positive in the country.

Over the past quarter we have delivered a further 58 initiatives to improve services for Tasmanians, keep our community safe, build the infrastructure our growing State needs, and protect our unique way of life.

They include: • more career firefighters on the frontline; • a start to construction of the new $70 million Southern Remand Centre; • improved visitor infrastructure in our National Parks right around the State; • the new Tasmanian-built SeaLink ferry to operate on the Bruny Island Service; • a start to the expansion of the Smithton Ambulance Training facility; • improved school facilities in East Launceston and Snug; • ongoing investment in regional communities life through Agricultural Show grants and Men’s Shed grants; and • completion of the feasibility assessment for the upgrade of the Power Scheme for the exciting Battery of the Nation project.

We have come a long way in recent years, and the Liberal Government’s mission in 2020 is to ensure the economic momentum continues and our strong economy works for everyone.

There is more work to do, and our Government is committed to keep delivering our plan, and to keep Tassie on top!
