In just six short seasons Ali Jaques has put Siena Women's Year-by-Year With Coach Jaques Basketball back on the map. Under her leadership the Saints enter the 2018-19 season with a second straight YEAR SCHOOL OVR MAAC third place ranking in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll, 2012-13 Siena 13-18 8-10 after putting up the most overall wins in the program in four years. 2013-14 Siena 9-22 3-17 2014-15$ Siena 22-13 11-9 Prior to their success last season, the Saints recorded 13 2015-16 Siena 14-18 10-10 conference wins for the most victories since 2003-04 fol - lowing a MAAC Preseason third place pick. 2016-17 Siena 14-16 13-7 2017-18 Siena 17-14 11-7 In 2017-18, Jaques helped collect the program's highest 2018-19 Siena 12-17 8-10 overall win total since 2014-15, when her Saints won 22 TOTALS SIX SEASONS 101-118 64-70 games and advanced to the championship game of the Women's Basketball Invitational. The Saints defeated Big East foe Xavier in the quar - terfinals in Cincinnati by 20 points, marking the pro - gram's largest margin of victory ever over a current mem - ber of one of the six major conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12, SEC). - After concluding the 2018-19 regular season with a 12-17 overall record, Siena Women’s Basketball heads into the 2019 MAAC Tournament as the No. 7 seed, facing off against No. 10 Iona Thursday at 11:30 AM. - Competing in the MAAC Tournament for the 30th time in program history, Siena is 27-28 all-time in the event, including 4-4 when facing the Gaels, 5-1 in the first round and 2-2 as the No. 7 seed. The squad is 5-6 in the tournament under Coach Jaques, hav - ing one at least one game in five of her first six seasons at the helm. - Entering at the No. 3 spot in 2018, Siena took down No. 6 Niagara before falling to No. 2 Marist in the semifinal round. The Saints last faced off against Iona in the 2017 edition of the tournament, falling, 67-47 in the quarterfinal round. - The Saints concluded their regular season slate at home in the ARC Saturday afternoon, falling to Regular Season Champion Quinnipiac, 67-38. Sims is also currently fifth in program history for the most blocks in a single season with 46 this year. - Maddie Sims finished the regular season tied with Canisius’s Sara Hinriksdottir for first in the MAAC in double-doubles, with seven so far this season, including five in conference play. - Entering Thursday’s game, redshirt-senior Joella Gibson is fifth in career games played with 120, while senior Deja Rawls is sixth with 119. - For the second consecutive year, Siena was picked to finish third in the MAAC in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll, with Maddie Sims (Second Team) and Aaliyah Jones (Third Team) earning Preseason All-MAAC honors. - Junior Maddie Sims became the first Siena player to earn a MAAC weekly honor this season when she was named the confer - ence’s Player of the Week on Dec. 17.
