Francis Marion University will break ground for the Performing Arts Center on Jan. 30 at 2:30 p.m. at the site on the corner of Dargan and West Palmetto streets. In addition to being an important asset to FMU, the Center will serve as an “anchor” to attract people and private businesses to the downtown area. The Center, located on 4.5 acres of land, will be used for FMU to break ground for performances, programs and exhibits. The facility will also include instructional space for use by the university’s fine arts program. Performing Arts Center Construction is expected to be complete in the fall of 2010.
