 Reasons for using these strategies

. Dribble, pass, receive and pivot

Dribbling  Technique and form – Keep head up, keep the ball in the fingers, keep the ball below the waist.  Different dribbles – Control and speed dribble, , onside dribble, stutter step dribble and retreat dribble. Passing  Technique – Read/Power position, flick of the fingers, and step into the pass.  Different passes – Chest pass, bounce pass, overhead pass, baseball pass and push pass.

Dribble, pass, body movement combinations.  Passing on the run (lead passes), pass off a jump stop, pass off a stride stop, pass of the dribble.  Lead Passes – Away from the defence, show target with outside hand.  Passing into post players Pivoting  Ready/Power Position, Feet shoulder width apart, moving ball & foot, keeping vision.  Rip through, Jap Steps, Fakes. . Correct defensive footwork  Sliding  Drop step  Slide run slide (Recovery steps)  Guarding the moving foot  Close out technique . Managing game play scenarios  Substitution  Time outs  Clock management  End of game scenarios  Team and player fouls  Match ups
