Initially Barroway Drove School was managed by Downham Market School Board, which included two representatives appointed by Stow Bardolph and Wimbotsham U.D. School Board. However, the Downham Market School Board minutes record that on 7 September 1885 the Board signed and sealed a deed transferring Barroway Drove School to Stow Bardolph and Wimbotsham U.D. School Board (C/ED 3/65 page 399). The Downham Market School Board minutes, 1871-1903, are to be found at C/ED/ 3/64-67. The Stow Bardolph and Wimbotsham U.D. School Board and Managers' minutes, 1877-1908, are at C/ED 3/182-186. From June 1995 the pupils of Barroway Drove School attended Clackclose C.P. School in Downham Market three days a week.
