Beautifully crafted puppets tell the story of the Three Billy Pigs. The show is a combination of two classic fairy tales, The Three Little Pigs and The Three Billy Goats Gruff, told through hearted story-telling, live music and a little bit of eco-awareness. Imagine Children’s Festival Southbank: all ages

Children take over Southbank Centre for two weeks bursting with shows and activities for all ages. Highlights include immersive opera, appearances and readings from top authors including Russell Brand, Judith Kerr and Anthony Horowitz and dance adventure at the Imaginarium of Alice in Wonderland. Plantastic at Horniman Museum: ages 5-12 years

Opening just in time for half term, Plantastic at the Horniman Museum explores the world of plants on a massive scale. The interactive exhibition will provide visitors with the chance to get up close and personal with nature, from giant seeds and exploding cucumbers to sun-seeking flowers and a huge crawl-through root system. Miniature Worlds at the Museum of Childhood: ages 5-12 years

The Museum of Childhood presents a world in miniature, inspired by its Small Stories exhibition. Hunt for little people, create tiny tea-time treats and mini rooms, and try on costumes that make you small. The team behind the discussion forum Intelligence Squared have joined forces with the charity Debate Mate to host a two-day debating course for children in Year 5 and above in West London. Fun with Folks: ages 6-9 years

Kids can take dancing right back to its roots in this dance and music workshop focusing on English folk songs and concluding with a performance for family and friends.
