HRH Princess Anne started her visit at the memorial village in before continuing on to St Martin’s Church in Flint Street which has recently opened following huge development and is now a fully integrated community space.

Within the community we attended an organised ‘Pond Dipping’ event at Markeaton Park. The children were fascinated by what we found and

What’s happening in Adult Services

INDE The INDE group have had a very busy few weeks! They have chosen to visit lots of places within the community including a trip on the tram to Highfields Park in Nottingham. Whilst they were there, they enjoyed a round of crazy golf, a look around the science exhibition, a picnic lunch and boating on the lake. Everyone had a great time and better still, they all came off the boats nice and dry!

The group also visited Midland Railway at Butterley on the hottest day of the year! It was perfect weather to travel on old steam trains around the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. On their way to Butterley, the young adults met the Mayor of Derby and told him all about Umbrella and the wonderful work we do!

TEAM Friday TEAM had fun at Deda this month at the accessible creative movement class. They got to choose from a range of funny hats and create movements whilst keeping the hats on their heads. The young adults enjoyed laughing at each other and seeing which hats looked the silliest! The young adults then discovered this Elephant hat at

Kristin went along for an hour to talk to people about Umbrella and couldn’t resist buying some cakes to take home!

Their event raised over £200 and this will be put to the work being done on the living room at Umbrella House. The Umbrella Lottery!
