Jewish Center Assistant Rabbi Candidates

RABBI MARK GLASS , a native of Manchester, England, spent two years studying in Yeshivat Hakotel in Israel after High School. Following two years at the University of Manchester, he transferred to Yeshiva University, earning a BA in philosophy. Currently, he is completing his MA in Jewish philosophy at the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies and his semikhah at RIETS. He has spent the last year and a half as Rabbinic Intern at Congregation Ahavas Achim in Highland Park, New Jersey where, among other things, he delivers weekly shiurim, regular derashot, and chairs the Education Committee. Rabbi Mark is an avid reader, particular of non-fiction, and also does graphic design in his spare time. He lives with his wife Ruthy, a PhD candidate in neuroscience at Rutgers University, and their 7-month-old son, Yair, in Highland Park, New Jersey.

RABBI EFFY UNTERMAN is the Associate Rabbi at Congregation Torat Emet in Columbus, OH, where he oversees the educational platform and programs of the synagogue, engaging young professionals across Columbus, and working to cultivate a warm and welcoming atmosphere to strengthen the synagogue’s community. Prior to joining Torat Emet, he and his wife, Rivkie, lived in New York, where he received a Wexner Graduate Fellowship for Jewish leadership and academic achievement in his work at Yeshiva University’s Azrieli Graduate School of Education and the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. The Untermans are proud parents of two children.
