OMAR (meaning "Amber" in Gaelic language) Distillery creates a expression that appeals to traditionalists. The team insists on non-chill filtration and zero use of caramel colouring, producing a dram that is naturally golden in colour and expressive of cask and terroir influence. Their series (launched in 2013) is definitely one to watch and taste. Opulent in tropical fruit flavours and peaty smokey notes (in peated versions only), OMAR Cask Strength malt whiskies have found favour among whisky connoisseurs and experienced whisky judges.

Taiwan has long been regarded as the kingdom of fruits. Nantou Distillery creates this fruit liqueur series to celebrate this fact. In this version, green plums of Nantou are first used to make fruit liqueur of rich, fragrant plum flavours; zesty acidity and balanced sweet-sour finish. The nuances of plum liqueur harmoniously integrate into OMAR Cask Strength Malt Whisky (Plum Liqueur Barrel Finish) and impart exotic aromas into the dram.

The meeting of Scottish peat and malt and Taiwanese terroir creates a unique Taiwanese style peaty nose that strongly associates with the aroma of ancient Taiwanese stable - baked sweet potato. This is a perfect, notwithstanding adventurous, alternative for those who craved peat notes in Scotch whiskies.
