Wednesday 3rd December @ 2.30pm (Crt 1) AUSTRALIa lost to ENGLAND 0/3 The Team Rachael Grinham lost to Alison Waters 3/1, 7/11, 11/8, The overall team morale was excellent. All the girls 6/11, 8/11 participated to the best of their ability and the enthusiasm Sarah Cardwell lost to Sarah Jane Perry 3/0, 6/11, 5/11, was a pleasure to be part of. Our 3rd round pool match 1/11 against Wales was vital to Australia finishing in the top 8. Christine Nunn lost to Emma Beddoes 3/0, 1/11, 5/11, Lisa Camilleri played first against a similarly ranked 3/11 opponent, Lisa played exceptionally with some fantastic Quarter Finals boasts and drops creating pressure on her opponent Thursday 4th December @ 2.30pm (Glass Court) forcing the early error. Winning this first match put AUSTRALIA lost to Australia into a great 1/0 lead. Rachael Grinham played Lisa Camilleri lost to 3/0, 7/11, 2/11, second and although down 0/2 in very close games 5/11 managed to play herself back into the match. Rachael walked out winning the 5th game 11/8 to 5-8 Position Play Off give Australia a 2/0 lead. Sarah Cardwell finished the Friday 5th December @ 6pm (Crt 6) night off winning 3/0 in the deciding match. This win gave AUSTRALIA lost to FRANCE 2/0 Australia the potential to finish 2nd in our Pool. Rachael Grinham lost to 3/0, 7/11, 1/11, 6/11 The following matches against England, Egypt and Lisa Camilleri lost to Coline Aumard 3/0, 6/11, 8/11, France really showed our lack of depth. Although the 12/14 girls fought all the way the higher quality opponents were 7-8 Position Play off too strong.
