• VIGIL OF PENTECOST: This Saturday, May 22, is the Vigil of Pentecost, a day of fast (age 21-59) and partial abstinence (age 7 and older).

• NOTE the earlier Mass times on Monday and Wednesday. There will be no confessions this Wednesday.

EASTER DUTY- All the faithful who have reached the use of reason are gravely obliged to receive Holy Communion worthily at least once during the Easter season. In the United States, this extends from the first Sunday of Lent to Trinity Sunday (the Sunday after Pentecost, which is May 30 this year).

• THE BANNS OF MATRIMONY are announced for the second time for Richard Winczewski and Jennifer Pollard. If anyone is aware of any impediments to this marriage, please notify one of the .

• CARNIVAL FUN-DRAISER: A parish carnival later this summer (possibly Sunday, July 25?) would be a perfect opportunity for the whole parish to have a good time together while also raising funds for the church. The bishop had mentioned that we should have an open house for the neighbors, so this would also be a great opportunity to invite the community, who has shown interest. Please sign up on the sheet in the vestibule if you would be willing to help. If you don’t have a particular game or activity in mind, there are plenty of ideas to share!

• SERVING CLASS will start next Sunday, May 23, at 8:15 in the meeting room.

• GRADUATION AND SPRING PROGRAM for Immaculate Conception Academy will be held next Sunday, May 23, after the 11:00 Mass (on the west lawn, weather permitting). All are welcome to attend!

• PARISH PICTURE DIRECTORY forms are in the vestibule, for any new parishioners or anyone else who may like to be included in the second edition. This is not the same as the private contact information that the parish office keeps on all parishioners. The optional picture directory is for sharing with the other parishioners who would like to participate in it and get to know fellow parishioners better. Fill out and return a form soon if you are interested!

• PASTORAL LETTER ON MODESTY by the Bishop is available for free.

• BLESSING OF RELIGIOUS ARTICLES: If you have items you would like to have blessed, please bring them in a box labeled “Please bless for (name),” and Father Molina will bless them during the week.

• CONFIRMATION FORMS: Those being confirmed this May 30, please take a form to fill out and return this week, if you have not already done so. • BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATES are needed for those who were not baptized here at our parish. Please give a copy when you provide your forms.

• CONFIRMATION will be after the 9:00 Mass on Sunday, May 30. Girls and ladies are encouraged to wear a white and/or red dress, if possible. White veils with red flowers will be provided for the younger girls to borrow. Red ties will be available for younger boys to borrow, and all the boys and men will be given red carnations to pin to your suit coats. Please get these items in the meeting room at 8:30. • CAKE AND DRINKS will be provided after the ceremony. If anyone would like to contribute some finger food as well, it would be appreciated!

• GIRLS CAMP forms are available. Please mail your form and payment to the Iowa address on the form. • SEATS IN ICA VAN are almost filled up. Ask Sr. Philomena ASAP if you would like to reserve a ride for camp.

• THANK YOU letter for the orphanage collection from the sisters in Mexico is posted with photos. • THANK YOU to our Austrian seminarians, Franz and Leopold, for coming to help at our parish for a few days before returning to Austria for the summer! Please pray for all our seminarians, especially those traveling overseas.
