―Let‘s fight back the evil‖ was the theme of the ―World No Tobacco Day‖ organised by AIMST University and held on 31st May 2018. The organising committee was headed by Dr M Durga Prasad (FOD), and Dr Arun Sen (FOM) and the entire team from various faculties were involved in spreading awareness on smoking.

There was a massive response with over 600 partici- pants who took part in various events. On this occasion, there were 170 participants in slogan writing competition which was won by Mr William See from the foundation in science. Fifty participants took part in the poster compe- tition, and the winner was Ms Aruna Palani of Student Recruitment Division.

An oral screening and brief smoking intervention clinic was set up for participants interested to know about smoking and ill effects and quitting. Educational videos were played on tobacco awareness along with awareness posters exhibited around the venue open for viewing. Pamphlets were also distributed throughout the event.

There was also the wheel of awareness, a general knowledge quizzing session where each participant had to answer simple questions related to the smoking effects and a healthy lifestyle.
