NEW FACES: The Cavaliers named John Beilein as the 22nd head coach in franchise history this past offseason. Beilein was previously the head coach for the University of Michigan men’s basketball team for the past 12 seasons and has compiled a career record of 829-468 (.639) in over 40 years as a collegiate head coach. Beilein has recorded 20-plus win seasons on 23 occasions and has finished with a winning record in 35 seasons, placing him in the top 10 for career victories among active NCAA Division I head coaches. • 1,300 BENCH POINTS: With his 6th point against Phoenix on 4/1/19, Clarkson reached 1,300 points for the 2018-19 season. It was the 19th time a player scored 1,300+ points off the bench in a season since the NBA first noted starters on official box scores in 1970-71.

• BENCH CONSISTENCY: Clarkson scored in double figures 72 times, which ended up being the most among all NBA bench players this past season. His 1,364 points (2nd-most for NBA bench players in 2018-19 behind Lou Williams-1,485) was also the highest among reserves in franchise history, surpassing Campy Russell (1,210 PTS in 1975-76). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Clarkson’s career-best 16.84 PPG is the 2nd-highest mark by a Cavs bench player, trailing only John ‘Hot Rod’ Williams (16.87).

• FIRST TEAM TO DO IT TWICE: The Cavs recorded only 3 turnovers in a game twice in 2018-19 (vs. LAL on 11/21/18 and at POR 1/16/19), becoming the first team since the NBA began compiling team turnovers on box scores in 1970-71 to have 3 turnovers on two or more occasions in a single season.

50 BOARDS: The Cavs secured 50+ total rebounds in four consecutive games from Feb. 11-23. That was their longest streak since they also went four straight games with at least 50 total rebounds from 2/25/04-3/3/04.

IT’S ALL LOVE: Five-time NBA All-Star Kevin Love played in 21 games in 2018-19, posting 12 double-doubles and averaging 17.0 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 27.2 minutes per game. This was his 7th time of his 11 NBA seasons he averaged a double-double.

• BIG BOARDS IN ’19-20 OPENER: In the 2019-20 season opener, Love recorded 11 points, a game-high 18 rebounds, three assists and one steal in 36 minutes at Orlando on 10/23/19. With 18 rebounds, Love tied Zydrunas Ilgauskas for the 3rd-most boards ever recorded by a Cavalier in a season opener, trailing only Anderson Varejao (23 vs. WAS, 10/30/12) and Jim Chones (19 at POR, 10/18/74). • ALMOST A TRIPLE-DOUBLE: In the home opener against Indiana on 10/26/19, Love had a near triple-double in with 21 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 3FG, 8-9 FT), a game- high tying 13 rebounds, a team-high nine assists and two steals in 33 minutes of play. His nine assists were the most he has recorded as a member of the Cavaliers (prev. 7, Oct. 19, 2018 at MIN). Love also pulled down his 5,500th career defensive rebound that night.

• 12K PTS, 7K REB, 1K 3FG: Love scored his 12,000th career point with his basket at the 1:41 mark of the fourth quarter at San Antonio on 3/28/19, becoming just the 8th player in NBA history to accumulate at least 12,000 points, 7,000 rebounds and 1,000 three-pointers (Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Kobe Bryant, Paul Pierce, LeBron James, Rasheed Wallace, Antawn Jamison).

ON THE LINE: The Cavs had the 7th-highest free throw percentage in the NBA at .792 in 2018-19. That was the 3rd-highest mark in franchise history, trailing only the 1991-92 (.805) and 1992-93 (.802) seasons. The Cavs shot at least .900 from the charity stripe on 15 occasions this past season, their most in a single season. Their previous franchise record was 9 such games in 2017-18.

LARRY’S CAREER YEAR: In 2018-2019, Larry Nance Jr. averaged career highs in points (9.4), rebounds (8.2), assists (3.2) and steals (1.49, 15th in NBA) in 26.8 minutes per game. Each broadcast on the Cavaliers Radio Network begins with “Huntington Tip-Off Show,” an inside look at the upcoming game. Hosted by Snyder, the show airs 30 minutes prior to game time. THE CAVALIERS ON LA MEGA 87.7 FM: Veteran broadcaster Rafael Hernández-Brito, known as Rafa "El Alcalde" (“The Mayor”), returns for his sixth season of bringing his high-energy play-by-play style to each of his Cleveland Cavaliers broadcasts. Prior to joining the Cavs, Rafa was the Spanish voice of Brooklyn Nets games for the franchise’s first two seasons. He also was the voice of the New Jersey Nets from 1997 to 2001 and called the action for St. John’s University men’s basketball during that same period. In 2018, Rafa became the first Spanish voice of the Cleveland Browns.

Nationally, his broadcasting experience includes eight years as the voice of NFL football for Spanish broadcasts of Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, the playoffs and Superbowl on Univision from 2005 to 2013. Hernández-Brito, who has worked 11 Super Bowls, was also the Spanish play-by-play voice of the Miami Dolphins and has handled the play-by-play for Major League Baseball, boxing and UFC. Rafa additionally covered the Soccer World Cups from 1998 to 2014. With the 2015 NBA Finals, he became the first broadcaster in the United States to call the Finals of all 3 major sports in Spanish. Rafa has been the Public Address Announcer and voice of legendary Azteca Stadium in Mexico City for NFL Mexico games since 2016. In March of 2017, he became the first broadcaster to call the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four in Spanish for Westwood One.

Rafa finished high school at Locust Valley, N.Y. He went on to earn a degree in mechanical engineering at Boston University, followed by a successful run working for Coors Brewing Co., where his buoyant personality made him a natural in sales and marketing. Nonetheless, he chose to follow his passion for sports and broadcasting. Hernández-Brito served as sports director at Univision Radio from 2005 to 2013, where he was also the host/ringleader of “Locura Deportiva”, Univision Radio’s most successful sports program, presiding over candid, colorful, often comical discussions on the topics of the day as “El Alcalde” (“The Mayor”). He was also the creator and longtime host of “El Garaje de AutoZone,” a Saturday morning automotive show perhaps best described as a Spanish-language version of the immensely popular NPR program “Car Talk."

Rafa’s path to the booth is an American dream. Today, he has a daily syndicated radio sports show airing in the US and Latin America, is the cohost of the Emmy-award winning show “Cavs HQ” on Fox Sports Ohio and also served as the executive producer of the popular podcast “Road Trippin’ with RJ and Channing.”

WALL OF HONOR INDUCTION TO TAKE PLACE AT NOVEMBER 17TH GAME: Five very special individuals who played core roles in the early years of the Cleveland Cavaliers will have their franchise legacies further recognized and honored when they are inducted into the brand-new Cavaliers Wall of Honor at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Wayne Embry, , the late John Johnson, Nick Mileti and the late John “Hot Rod” Williams will comprise the inaugural class of the Wall of Honor. The official induction ceremony will take place at the Cavs vs. Philadelphia game on Sunday, November 17th.

Making its debut for the Cavs 50th season in 2019-20, the Wall of Honor program was created to recognize deserving former members of the franchise and serve as a special, permanent way to honor those who have played such a distinguished, pivotal role in Cavs history.

The Wall of Honor will reside prominently in the new North Atrium area of the FieldHouse. The large 12’x44’ wall will feature a mosaic of custom designed tiles that represent each honoree. Each inductee will have two silver tiles: one engraved with their name, photo, years with the organization, and their jersey number or role with the team; the other with their name, list of major accomplishments and jersey number/role.

The Wall will also include tiles for the eight individuals who have previously had their jerseys retired by the Cavs: Austin Carr, Brad Daugherty, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Larry Nance Sr., Mark Price, Bobby “Bingo” Smith, Nate Thurmond and Joe Tait (Cavaliers Hall of Fame radio broadcaster for 39 seasons). CANTON CHARGE 2019 TRAINING CAMP ROSTER: The Canton Charge, powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, announced their training camp roster to begin preparations for the 2019-20 season. The group consists of four returning players, three affiliate players, two NBA G League Draft selections, three from local tryouts, two players acquired from trades and a pair of Cleveland Cavaliers Two-Way Players.

In the 2019 NBA G League Draft, Canton took Alan Herndon with the 9th overall pick and Alex Stein with the 12th overall choice before deferring their final two selections. The Charge also traded the rights to Gary Payton II to the South Bay Lakers in exchange for the rights to Robert Heyer, the 8th overall selection in the draft, Sheldon Mac, and South Bay’s first round pick in 2020. Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman, Malik Newman, Sir’Dominic Pointer and Levi Randolph all return to the Charge from last season.

A pair of forwards in DEAN WADE and TYLER COOK will come to Canton as Two-Way Players with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Marques Bolden, J.P. Macura and Alex Robinson all join the Charge as affiliate players after signing Exhibit 10 deals with the Cavs. Tyler Harris makes the training camp roster after Canton acquired his rights in a trade earlier this month. Three players will be in training camp via the team’s local tryouts last month: Ryan Boulter, Supreme Hannah and TySean Powell.

Training camp begins at the team's official practice facility, Edgewood Community Center, on Monday, October 28th. Final rosters will be set at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November, 7th.
