Messages from Rajya Sabha Secretary-General reported the following messages from Rajya Sabha:- (i) That at its sitting held on the 2nd August, 2019, Rajya Sabha agreed without any amendment to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Bill, 2019 as passed by the Lok Sabha. (ii) That at its sitting held on the 2nd August, 2019, Rajya Sabha agreed without any amendment to the Repealing and Amending Bill, 2019 as passed by the Lok Sabha. (iii) That at its sitting held on the 2nd August, 2019, Rajya Sabha agreed without any amendment to the Code on Wages, 2019 as passed by the Lok Sabha. (iv)@ That at its sitting held on the 5.08.2019, Rajya Sabha passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2019. (v)@ That at it sitting held on the 5.08.2019, Rajya Sabha passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019. 3@ Bills as passed by the Rajya Sabha – Laid on the Table (i) The Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2019 (ii) The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019. _____________________________________________________________ *Original in Hindi. Reports on the Participation of Indian Parliamentary Delegations at the Statutory Assemblies of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (134th to 140th Statutory Assemblies) Secretary General laid on the Table Hindi and English versions of the Seven Reports on the participation of Indian Parliamentary Delegations at the 134th to 140th Statutory Assemblies of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. 5. Motion for Election to the Court of Aligarh Muslim University Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal „Nishank‟ moved the following motion :- "That in pursuance of sub-clause (xxiv) of clause 1 and clause 2 of Statute 14 of the Statutes of Aligarh Muslim University Act, 1920, the members of this House do proceed to elect, in such manner as the Speaker may direct, six members from amongst themselves to serve as members of the Court of the Aligarh Muslim University, subject to the other provisions of the said Statutes.” The motion was adopted. 6. Government Bills – Introduced (i) The Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2019 (ii) The Chit Funds (Amendment) Bill, 2019 7. Amendments made by Rajya Sabha to Government Bill –Agreed to # The National Medical Commission Bill, 2019 The motion that the following amendments made by Rajya Sabha in the Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, be taken into consideration, was moved by Dr. Harsh Vardhan:- CLAUSE 4 1. That at page 3, line 27, for the word “fourteen”, the word “twenty-two” be substituted. 2. That at page 4, line 16, for the word “six”, the word “ten” be substituted. 3. That at page 4, line 20, for the word “five”, the word “nine” be substituted. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *The Bill was passed by Lok Sabha on the 29th July, 2019 and transmitted to Rajya Sabha for its concurrence. Rajya Sabha passed the Bill with amendments at its sitting held on the 1st August, 2019 and returned it to Lok Sabha on the 2nd August, 2019. 3 CLAUSE 37 4. That at page 18, line 24, after the words “qualification to be equivalent”, the words “for the purposes of teaching also.” be inserted. The motion for consideration was adopted. The motion that the amendments made by Rajya Sabha in the Bill be agreed to, was moved by Dr. Harsh Vardhan. The motion was adopted and the amendments were agreed to. 8. Amendments made by Rajya Sabha to Government Bill –Agreed to *The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2019. The motion that the following amendments made by Rajya Sabha in the Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, be taken into consideration, was moved by General (Retd.) V.K. Singh on behalf of Shri Nitin Gadkari :- CLAUSE 30 1. That at page 11, line 25, for the word “consultation”, the word “concurrence” be substituted. CLAUSE 34 2. That at page 14, line 2, for the word “consult”, the words “seek concurrence of” be substituted. CLAUSE 77 3. That at page 37, line 24, for the word, bracket and figure “sub-section (4)”, the word, bracket and figure “sub-section (1)” be substituted. The motion for consideration was adopted. The motion that the amendments made by Rajya Sabha in the Bill be agreed to, was moved by General (Retd.) V.K. Singh. The motion was adopted and the amendments were agreed to. ___________________________________________________________________ *The Bill was passed by Lok Sabha on the 23rd July, 2019 and transmitted to Rajya Sabha for its concurrence. Rajya Sabha passed the Bill with three amendments at its sitting held on the 31st July, 2019 and returned it to Lok Sabha on the 1st August, 2019. 4 11.14 A.M. 9. Government Bill – Passed The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2019 Time Taken: 3 Hrs. 52 Mts. This House resolves to express the view to accept the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019." Amongst the 374 EBDs, 7 districts were identified in the State of Maharashtra viz., Buldana, Gadchiroli, Hingoli, Jalna, Raigarh, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. Under the erstwhile scheme of setting up of one model degree college in each of the 374 EBDs, UGC had approved one MDC each in the 7 EBDs of Maharashtra.
