Thursday 7 April Basement Birds ARTBAR Under the Stars ARTBAR, now in its third season, promises to deliver another wonderful season of contemporary music, comedy and exhibitions after dark. Ticket holders don’t just get to see a great live act, but also have privileged access to the Gallery’s current exhibitions and enjoy a selection of food and drink. The Basement Birds will launch the 2011 ARTBAR season, performing under the stars overlooking the Gallery Wetland. This unique teaming of four of Australia’s premier singer/songwriters promises to be something special, featuring Kevin Mitchell (Jebediah, Bob Evans), Eskimo Joe frontman Kav Temperley and solo artists Josh Pyke and Steve Parkin. The quartet will perform songs from their 2010 self-titled album, including Waiting For You, Holly, the breezy Skin Of The Sky and the toe tappingly uptempo Bus Stop, along with a few surprises thrown into the mix. This exclusive event will take place at the Gallery Wetland stage, next to the Gallery entrance, in the Perth Cultural Centre, Northbridge. Bring a picnic blanket and a cushion, and sit back and enjoy this unique natural performance space!
Doors and selected Gallery Exhibitions open for viewing 6.00pm. Performances commence 7.15pm. Event closes 9.30pm. Support act: Ben Witt (founding member of The Chemist).
