8 The KUAY FEBRUARY 2012 A Patches Pal Shows His Love We get letters from alums who want to share their experiences with other grads. Below is a charming bit of local history tied to Seattle’s beloved J.P. Patches, everyone’s childhood (or later) favorite clown. My name is Carl Lovgren, class of ’74. Grow- ing up a Patches Pal was a great experience. His show was right up the street. It wasn't until about 12 years ago that I became very close friends with J.P. (aka Chris Wedes). As many times before, I would go to J.P.’s shows and appearances just to see him or shake his hand. John Hennes, Kathi and Kim (Every Patches Pal knows it's like seeing Santa Claus at any age.)
