Yahoo! HotJobs Assembles Celebrity Makeover Team to Help Job Seekers Move Up in Their Careers; ''Sex and the City'' Costume Designer, Former White House Press Secretary and ''The Devil Wears Prada'' Author Offer Career Advice NEW YORK, Jan 18, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Yahoo! HotJobs (Nasdaq:YHOO), a leader in the online recruitment industry, today launched its Celebrity Dream Team Makeover, a national contest that will award three winners one-on-one career coaching sessions with celebrity experts who will make over the candidates' resume-writing techniques, interview skills and professional styles. Job seekers of all levels will have the rare opportunity to spend a day getting personal job advice from "Sex and the City" costume designer Patricia Field, former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer and "The Devil Wears Prada" author Lauren Weisberger. Marc Karasu, vice president and career expert for Yahoo! HotJobs, will also work with the winners on job search techniques and networking. In addition, each winner will get a check for $10,000, which can be used towards a great vacation before moving on to the next job, a car that won't break down on the way to an interview or a really, really nice suit. Should you dress more like Carrie Bradshaw or Charlotte York for an interview? How do you tell your potential new boss he still has part of his lunch in between his teeth? How do you use humor in your cover letter to stand out from the crowd without looking like a bad joke? The Yahoo! HotJobs Celebrity Dream Team can answer these questions and more as they help three people jump-start their job search in the New Year. The contest coincides with the peak of job-hunting season -- a time when many hiring budgets get renewed and New Year's resolutions are made. This year's job-hunting season is expected to be the most robust in years with numerous job market outlooks forecasting big gains in employment rolls for 2006. "In developing the Celebrity Dream Team Makeover, Yahoo! HotJobs conducted job seeker research and learned that 40 percent of the workforce is planning to start a search for a new job this year(1)," said Karasu. "January is usually a time of year when we see a rise in the number of people searching for jobs, and we wanted to provide those job seekers with a special opportunity to brush up on their skills. Our intent with this contest is to share with job seekers personal advice from people at the top of their games whose skills and instincts helped them live their dreams." From Field's guidance on dressing for success and Fleisher's tips for managing the toughest lines of questioning to Weisberger's resume-writing pointers, the Yahoo! HotJobs promotion arms job seekers with new tools to help them land a new job or just move up in the same one. To enter for a chance to win this opportunity, job seekers can visit www.hotjobs.com, submit or update their resume between today and February 20, 2006, and write a brief explanation why they deserve a personalized Celebrity Dream Team Makeover. Job seekers at any career level can apply. About the Yahoo!
