How Powerful Is God?
1 How powerful is God? GENESIS 18:10-11, 13-14 The LORD said…Sarah your wife shall have a son…11Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years…13The Lord said to Abraham…14Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time…Sarah shall have a son. The 4½ million-pound spaceship Columbia blasted off with a long fiery tail. Two minutes later, it had reached an altitude of 23 miles. It circled the globe at 17,000 miles per hour. Imagine the power that it took to push that huge rocket through space at that speed! Did you know God is more powerful than that? The Bible says, “The Lord is…great in power” (Nahum 1:3). He made the heavens and Earth. God spoke and it was there! He is almighty. He rules over all nations. God’s power has no limits. He can make anything happen. The Bible tells about Abraham and Sarah. God promised them that they would have many children, but no children were born. One day, God sent an angel to Abraham when he and Sarah were almost 100 years old. The angel told him that the following year Sarah would have a son. That was impossible! When Sarah laughed, the angel said, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (Genesis 18:14). Sure enough, Sarah had a son! Because God is all-powerful, He could make this impossible thing happen. The next time you have a problem, remember that God is very powerful and wants to help you. THINK ABOUT IT! What are some ways God shows His power? TALK TO GOD Tell God how great and powerful He is. -
The Prophet Muhammad Reincarnated and His Son, Jesus: Re-Centering Islam Among the Layenne of Senegal
Journal of Historical Geography 42 (2013) 24e35 Contents lists available at ScienceDirect Journal of Historical Geography journal homepage: www.elsevier.com/locate/jhg The Prophet Muhammad reincarnated and his son, Jesus: re-centering Islam among the Layenne of Senegal John Glover Department of History, University of Redlands, 1200 East Colton Avenue, PO Box 3080, Redlands, CA 92373-0999, USA Abstract This article explores how the Layenne of Senegal have employed the historical geography of the Cap Vert peninsula as an archive to effectively re-center the Islamic world away from Arabia to the coast of West Africa. Annual pilgrimages to Layenne religious sites and shrines that serve as lieux de mémoire provide ‘foyers’ on which contemporary collective and individual identities are contemplated with regard to Layenne perceptions of the past. The Layenne historical imagination is tied to the geographic space that constitutes Cap Vert in a symbiotic relationship by which history gives meaning to place and vice versa. While the rituals practiced at the Layenne places of memory revolve around the hagiography of their founder, Seydina Limamou Laye, who claimed to be the Mahdi and the reincarnation of the Prophet Muhammad, the Layenne have also appropriated sites and symbols associated with French colonization and a post-colonial Senegal into a vibrant and fluid conception of modernity that is simultaneously indigenous and global. Theosophy and the Origins of the Indian National Congress
THEOSOPHY AND THE ORIGINS OF THE INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS By Mark Bevir Department of Political Science University of California, Berkeley Berkeley CA 94720 USA [E-mail: [email protected]] ABSTRACT A study of the role of theosophy in the formation of the Indian National Congress enhances our understanding of the relationship between neo-Hinduism and political nationalism. Theosophy, and neo-Hinduism more generally, provided western-educated Hindus with a discourse within which to develop their political aspirations in a way that met western notions of legitimacy. It gave them confidence in themselves, experience of organisation, and clear intellectual commitments, and it brought them together with liberal Britons within an all-India framework. It provided the background against which A. O. Hume worked with younger nationalists to found the Congress. KEYWORDS: Blavatsky, Hinduism, A. O. THE ASCENDED MASTERS the Ascended Masters Are Perfect
THE ASCENDED MASTERS The Ascended Masters are perfect, fulfilled Beings, that work for our mental evolution and awakening. Being approached by Them is the purest and strongest bliss a person can get. In the small Ashram of Hilarion, in Kifissia (Athens, Greece), special healing techniques and activities that lead to our Awakening, are given through the 7 Ray Energymental Healing Seminars, in the form of Teachings grounded by the Ascended Masters. I will mention some impressions and facts from the 7 Ray Seminars. Master El Morya, although he may be regarded to be unreachable by some people, he has actually helped in the creation of this seminar. He has also helped the attendants evolve as far as it concerns protection and skills. He is the fastest and the most direct Ascended Master and makes you feel that you are continuously running to catch up with and conceive his Teaching. Only when you get rid of what slows down your evolution, he will let you relax! Master Lanto, unknown to many people, has really reversed many social standards through his Teaching and has caused inner conflict to many students who are not willing to receive his Teaching either because they are not ready, or because they are deeply constrained by certain social standards. These however, consist the most substantial Teaching generated by the 2nd Ray. Master Paul the Venetian always active and fast while transfering data, takes your voice if you need to stop talking for a while and he puts you in the trouble of changing the way you approach the basic sectors of your life. -

Enjoy Your Journey with the Lord!
“Daily Confession of Faith” In Christ I am anointed and a powerful person of God. I am a joint-heir with Jesus and more than a conqueror. I am a doer of the Word of God and a channel for His blessings. If God be for me, who can be against me? I am blessed coming in and I am blessed Going out. My enemies are fleeing before me. God has commanded His blessing on my storehouses. He has opened His Good treasures and I shall lend and not borrow. I am the head and not the tail. He has given me power to make wealth. I dwell in the secret place I have His protection and provision. God is my refuge, my fortress I am not afraid of the snare of the fowler. No Evil shall befall me and no plague shall come nigh My dwelling. God has given his angels Charge over me and they are bearing me up in their hands lest I dash my foot against a stone, as declared in Psalms 91. I Peter 2:9 establishes I am a chosen generation, A royal priesthood, a holy nation. I am a peculiar person called out of darkness Into His marvelous light. I Peter 2:24 states, I have been healed by the stripes of Jesus. Cancer, sugar diabetes, heart disease, sickness, Afflictions, infections, or any other disease can not enter my body. I am without spot or blemish, An intercessor, the righteousness of God, saved, and washed in the Blood of Jesus. “No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue Which rises against me in judgment You shall condemn. -
Martin Luther—Translations of Two Prefaces on Islam
Word & World Volume XVI, Number 2 Spring 1996 Martin Luther—Translations of Two Prefaces on Islam: Preface to the Libellus de ritu et moribus Turcorum (1530), and Preface to Bibliander’s Edition of the Qur’an (1543) SARAH HENRICH and JAMES L. BOYCE Luther Seminary St. Paul, Minnesota I. INTRODUCTION:LUTHER ON “THE TURKS” N THE FIRST OF HIS WELL-KNOWN 95 THESES OF 1517, MARTIN LUTHER WROTE, I“When our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, said ‘Repent,’ He called for the en- tire life of believers to be one of penitence.”1 Luther’s call for the centrality of re- pentance in the life of the Christian signals a key perspective in the theology of the reformer. To judge from his writings on the subject, that same key theological concern for Christian repentance shaped and characterized his attitude toward and understanding of the religion of Islam expressed throughout his career. For the encouragement of Christian repentance and prayer was Luther’s primary rationale for his actions to support and secure the publication of the 1543 edition 1Martin Luther: Selections From His Writings, ed. John Dillenberger (Garden City, NY: Doubleday, 1961) 490. Unless otherwise noted, all translations from the German and Latin in this article are by the authors. Citations from the works of Martin Luther are: WA = German Weimar Edition of Luthers works; LW = American Edition of Luthers works. JAMES BOYCE and SARAH HENRICH are professors of New Testament. Professor Boyce, a former editor of Word & World, has had varied service in the church and maintains an interest in philology and archaeology. -

The author has been the target, ever since he began giving away "The New Philosophy" in 1904, of more abuse and persecution than has fallen to the lot of any other healer or teacher of this generation. He spent his savings distributing his first book, incurring the indignation of many who did not approve, and when he discovered the healing power of unselfish love, if given with- out money, he incurred the indignation of a powerful organization. That be does not flinch in the faee of the world's abuse, he claims to be no merit of his own. The Universal Love, which can be everyone's Courage, sustains him, and he be- lieves it will ever sustain him. This volume is an attempt to bring home to its readers the nature and reality of liv- ing and growing by the living power called the Universal Love, and of seeking and find- ing perfect health and increased powers thereby. The author aims to deal with this earth, and not the distant stars, with this time, and not the distant future, and hopes that he has succeeded in making his analysis of the heart of man wholly unecclesiastical. These emanations from God produce new sounds that invariably when captured by true worshippers become the songs we arrange to communicate the heart of our heavenly Father. In this respect we sing a new song unto the Lord. Eternal Sound is a vehicle that God has created in our day to communicate the sounds of the season. They are true worshippers who do not just simply sing the song of the Lord but who have become the song that they sing.
