Leinster GAA Convention Report 2013-2014 1 The proudest man in Croke Park last Summer was Na Fianna’s Jimmy Gray when he was called on to present the Bob O’Keeffe Cup to Dublin Hurling Captain, Johnny McCaffrey, after their victory over Galway. In 1961 Jimmy played in goal for Dublin when they defeated Wexford in their last Dublin Captain Stephen Cluxton, raises the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship Final win. Little did anyone know then that it Delaney Cup in triumph at Croke Park in July 2013 would be a long 52 years before the Dubs would repeat that victory. Well worth waiting for, Jimmy! • Na Fianna Nuacht 310818
Na Fianna Nuacht Na Fianna Supporting The Dubs It’s going to be another huge All-Ireland Final weekend as Dublin take on Tyrone in Sunday’s Senior Football final. All in Na Fianna are getting behind our 3 reps in Jim Gavin’s panel and we all wish Jonny Cooper, Conor McHugh, Eoin Murchan and the Dublin lads the very best as they strive to make it 4 Sams in a row. Thanks to the group of Na Fianna members who gave their time during the week to make sure that the club was decked out appropriately in Dublin colours to show support for the lads. Why not make Na Fianna your pre or post match stop on Sunday. Na Fianna Nuacht 31ú Lúnasa 2018 1 Na Fianna Nuacht Na Fianna Nuacht 31ú Lúnasa 2018 2 Na Fianna Nuacht Saturday 1st September in Na Fianna The Na Fianna Nursery is back in action on Saturday morning 1st September. The fun and madness starts at 9.15am. New players always welcome, tell your pals. On what will undoubtedly be a busy morning in Mobhi Road, all attending are encouraged to walk or cycle and all drivers are asked to park considerately and to observe the yellow boxes in the car park. Teas and coffees will be available, with a smile, from our wonderful staff at the Coffee cabin. The Hurley shop will be open from 9-12 but please note that due to another commitment the Club Shop will NOT be open this Saturday. Supporting Leah, Lucy & The Jackies Well done to the 2003 Ladies who travelled to Dr Hyde Park last weekend to support Leah Caffrey, Lucy Collins and the Dublin Senior Ladies footballers in their All-Ireland Championship semi-final win over Galway.

AUTUMN 2018 13. Molecular into HIV Research 11. Nutrition and the Elderly discovery significant -averyDowth INSIDE 9. Professor Harry White – Festschrift 5. Archaeological 5. Archaeological Discovery at Dowth Contents Features Archaeological Professor Harry Nutrition and Molecular Research 5 Discovery at Dowth 9 White – Festschrift 11 the Elderly 13 into HIV Housing and student accommodation: the patterns and the lessons are the same Amongst the cranes stretching into the Belfield skyline are 5 on the Roebuck student residences site. Back in January UCD received permission for 2,118 bed spaces to be developed in two phases under the new fast-track planning process for housing developments of 100 or more units that can now be made directly to An Bord Pleanála rather than to the local authority. EILIS O’BRIEN According to international commercial real estate advisors, Cushman and Director of Communication and Marketing Wakefield, the purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) sector is growing and has now come into its own as a serious investment option for profit-driven, international portfolio managers. In Dublin, they estimate the current PBSA market has 11,340 bed spaces with a further 6,160 under construction, including the first phase of the new UCD development with 1,000 spaces. Big investors and big operators are moving into the Irish market, as they have done in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. The largest investors in Ireland are Hines, Harrison Street Real Estate, GSA and Summix. The biggest operators are Aparto, Uninest and Host. UCD has argued that building our own student accommodation is better on a number of fronts: it gives us a critical mass of students living on campus to create a more vibrant atmosphere and to sustain better food and retail services; it gives students a social centre when they arrive in Dublin; it guarantees a certain standard in terms of quality of accommodation; and it relieves the pressure on the private rental market.
