BY VINCENT A. DE MURO JR. Staff Writer leven candidates filed petitions Friday to sit on a five-seat charter study commission proposed to re- E examine the current form of government. The question of whether to re-examine the current form of government came up in May when residents broached the topic at a township meeting, questioning whether the current form of government was truly the best for the township. The township currently operates under a committee form of government with a weak mayor, who is appoint- ed by the five-membercommittee . There have been sug- gestions that perhaps a seven-member council with a stronger, elected mayor would be more appropriate. Committee members voted 4-1 in July in favor of let- ting residents elect the members of a charter study commission to research the question. To get their names on the general election ballot, resi- dents had to provide a petition with more than 100 regis- tered voters endorsing them as candidates by 4 p.m. last Alfredo the Clown entertains children at the South Brunswick Family YMCA open house Friday at the Friday. NS SENTINEL, SEPTEMBER 12, 1996 31 The police officer on the scene said he wanted to get one. - Steven Kursar

We design and build every Saturn with the safety of its passengers inmind. It just so happens that sometimes those passengers are police offi cers, tow truck operators, ambu- lance drivers and even insurance adjusters. Now maybe they got their Saturns because of standard dual airbags, the crumple zones or the steel spaceframes. But For Private Party Items then again, maybe it was all of those pretty colors that we have. NEW 1997 SATURN SL- • 4 Lines Hope to see you soon. A DIFFERENT KIND of COMPANY.
