adsden County graduates do not need to look far for inspiration. The recent death of Dr. LaSalle D. Leffall Jr. reminds us of that. AndG his memory should provide Gadsden County residents – young or old – a remind- er effort often equals excellence. Leffall grew up in segregated Quincy. His skin color – not his sharp mind, love for books or unfathomable work ethic – could have determined his future. Segregation was not a time when young, black boys were encouraged to dream big. But Leffall did. His father was a college professor and high school principal.
