8 The Faculty TESTIMONIALS AND CAREERS Agathe Le Couteulx, 2016/17 I started the program in 2016. This double degree was a logical step for me to take in terms of my professional development. I knew I wanted to work with luxury brands and it was important for me to gain experience in this specific area. During my studies I was able to develop my theoretical knowledge thanks to a diverse selection of classes. For example finance, social media and marketing all are important for my intended career path. In terms of my practical experience, we had the opporunity to work on numerous projects and visit various luxury brands in New York City and Paris. As a result of my Global Luxury and Management experiences, I was lucky enough to then gain my end of study internship at Cartier.

Romain Attard, 2016/17 My year in the program was rich in discoveries and learning. Studying in an international class in both the USA and France helped me develop advanced and valuable management skills. Thanks to the classes and content covered, I feel ready to face the new challenges in the luxury industry. Company visits, field projects, the New York City and Paris study tours, and career training have allowed me to start my career with well known industry partners. In my case, I’m starting my career with the fashion division of Chanel. The Global Luxury and Management program is made for preparing future global luxury managers.

Marie Lavaud, 2014/15 I was very keen to join the program because of the dual degrees from Skema Business School and NC State University, the semester abroad (in the US for me), as well as the opportunity to learn more about the fashion and luxury industry and to meet many professionals. My first semester at the prestigious American university NC State was amazing. I met people, who are now great friends, professors, and career management people who were very available to us. We had great courses and the opportunity to network with many professionals. In France, at Skema, we had great classes lead by professionals working for luxury companies. We were well prepared to face interviews for internships. I found a very interesting internship as a women’s ready-to-wear assistant in Louis Vuitton. I am happy to work for this great company in Paris, part of the LVMH luxury group.

Marquelle Turner-Gilchrist, 2013/14 The Global Luxury and Management program, from its infancy, heralded the start of a new chapter of my life. I have always been passionate about the intersectionality between art and commerce and the program supplied the perfect stage to learn in the industry that combines both in a perfect matrimony. From a diverse cohort of colleagues, which reflects the luxury industry's workforce, to the forward-thinking assignments, the impact of the program is still evident in my professional and personal life years after completion. Currently, I am on a team that's opening 4 luxury department stores across three countries in the Middle East. As the Buyer and Commercial Manager for Men's RTW, I am responsible for translating trend into product strategy, ideas into experiences, and direction into innovative approaches to retailing in the world's wealthiest country per capita GDP.
