Through the glory years of rock 'n' roll, in cities as varied as London, Berlin, Sydney, Los Angeles and Paris, Richard forged his own career and built up a significant body of work while living, loving and partying with the biggest names in and international music world. For 40 years, Richard Clapton has been, above all else, a -a wry observer of human behaviour and an astute commentator on the Australian condition. His best songs- Deep Water, The Best Years of Our Lives, , Glory Road, Lucky Country, , Trust Somebody and Capricorn Dancer - capture the essence of this country and the meaning of our lives like few others.

1927 Known for enduring hits such as That's When I Think of You, Compulsory Hero, 'To Love Me, Scars, Don't Forget Me, and, of course, If I Could, 1927 made a devastating entry into the ears of its listeners with the Quintuple Platinum selling …ish in 1988, which earned the band a slew of ARIA Awards as well as a lot of fans along the way. Following up …ish with the multi-platinum second album The Otherside, a self-titled third album, and countless live shows at home and abroad, the last couple of decades have certainly earned 1927 legendary status. Not content to rest on their laurels, after more than ten years, 1927 released a new studio album Generation i last year. It may just be the band’s finest album yet.

Kids in the Kitchen took Australian audiences by storm, which saw them rise to the top of the charts, as their music stood squarely within the New Romantic movement that dominated the music scene in the mid-1980’s. Forming in in 1983, KIDS IN THE KITCHEN enjoyed strong chart success with four Top 20 hits on the Australian Singles Chart, (1983), (1984), and (both 1985). The related album, Shine (20 May 1985), reached No. 9 on the Australian Album Chart.

Uncanny Xmen Uncanny X-Men formed in Melbourne as a guitar pop band in 1981 and worked the circuit. Original line-up included Chuck Hargreaves on guitar, Steve Harrison on bass guitar, as lead singer, Nick Manthandos on drums and Ron Thiessen on guitar. Mannix became known for his mischievous and comical send-ups of other artists. The band was signed by early in 1982 and released their debut EP Salive One in November, which peaked at #15 on the Kent Music Report. They toured Australia in support of US rock act Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Early in 1983, Harrison was replaced on bass by John Kirk, and they released their single, “How Do You Get Your Kicks?” in March. Craig Waugh replaced Manthandos on drums and they released another single “Time Goes So Fast”. They toured through 1984 and released an EP, Beach Party, in July which included the single, “Everybody Wants to Work”.

Dale Ryder DALE RYDER formed in 1985 and they quickly became one of the hottest live acts in the country. The release of their first single Great Wall was a huge smash hit and then the and hits just kept coming; , Onion Skin, The Best Thing and Dancing In the Storm were all staples of radio stations across the country. DALE RYDER is without doubt one of the most charismatic front men in the country, gathering accolades and awards along the way.

Swanee John ‘SWANEE’ Swan is a blue blood of the Australian rock scene. In 1978 he released his first album ‘Into the Night’ but his first major chart success was a rendition of Tim Hardin’s If I Were a Carpenter from the album This Time It’s Different. Success with the next two singles from the album immediately followed. Lady What’s Your Name and Temporary Heartache both screamed up the charts. SWANEE played all over the country, winning new fans wherever he went. He built a reputation as one of the best and most respected rock n roll singers in the country. Along came self- titled album which went number one in 3 weeks due to the success of the number one single He’s Gonna Step On You Again and top 10 hits and Gloria.

Steve Kilbey of the Church It’s a unique band that finds itself cherished as a bona fide legend in the ARIA Hall of Fame while remaining a virtual enigma to the world that knows its name but the church, led by the enigmatic , is just that. Since arriving in Australia half a century ago, STEVE KILBEY has forged a unique and frighteningly individual stream of musical thoughts including the church’s accidental signature tune, , being sung along with him by countless Australians. A songwriter of many musical tongues, STEVE KILBEY - band singer, songwriter and bassist, painter, writer, poet, actor, sage, dispenser of arcane wisdom, and much loved national treasure - has created an all-embracing artistic universe of unearthly beauty. WENDY MATTHEWS is without doubt one of Australia’s most respected vocalists. Originally from Canada, Wendy Matthews was part of two of Australia’s most successful bands, Models and Absent Friends, taking lead vocals on the smash hit, Nobody but You, before embarking on a successful solo career. In the 90s Wendy released a slew of Top 20 singles including Token Angels, Let's Kiss (Like Angels Do), and Friday's Child and Top 20 albums: You've Always Got the Blues (with ), Émigré, Lily, and her compilation, Stepping Stones. Matthews appeared on three series of It Takes Two (2006-2008) and in 2014 released , her first originals album in 12 years, with songs co-written by Josh Pyke, , Mark Sholtez and many more.

The Originally formed for a one off show in 1986, THE CHANTOOZIES amassed quite the following and went on to tour Australia extensively. They achieved great success with their original material Wanna Be Up, Kiss And Tell, Walk On and covers of Witch Queen, He’s Gonna Step on You, Love the One You’re With and I’ll Be There; all top 20 hits reaching platinum and gold sales. Throughout the 80’s and 90’s they shared the stage with many of Australia’s biggest acts and supported international act Billy Joel for an Australia wide 38 show tour. After taking time out to pursue their individual careers the girls reunited for ‘The 25 years of Mushroom Music’ in 1998, the ‘’ tour in 2006 and again in 2012 when they supported Rick Astley on his Australian tour.
