Cengiz. He ended up going missing for about two weeks until it was confirmed he had been killed. There is a whole investigation going on about who is responsible for his death. There was supposed to be a Future Investment Initiative in , many people who were supposed to speak at the initiative have said they are no longer going to speak due to his murder.

Jamal Khashoggi was born on October 13, 1958 and was murdered on October 2, 2018.

He was a Saudi Arabian journalist, author, a former general manager and editor-in-chief of an

Arab News Channel and the editor for the Saudi Arabian newspaper called . He fled Saudi Arabia in September of 2017 and went into self-imposed exile. He said that the Saudi

Arabian government “banned him from .” He later wrote newspaper articles critical of the

Saudi government. He was also very critical of the Saudi Arabian Prince and King, and .

On October 2, Jamal entered the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, but was never seen leaving the building. There are news sites claiming that he was killed and dismembered alive inside the building. There are many people pointing fingers at the Saudi Arabian government saying that they had people kill him. They first denied his death and said he left the building alive, but on October 20 they confirmed that he was killed inside, claiming that he was strangled to death after a fight had broken out and then dismembered. So far eighteen Saudis have been arrested including the fifteen people that were sent to “confront him”.

Donald Trump has said that this is “the worst cover up ever.” He also has said that

“We’re demanding everything. We want to see what’s going on. It’s a very serious situation for us and for this .’ ‘I want to see what happens and we’re working very closely with

Turkey and I think we’ll get to the bottom of it.’” Although he has said these things, Donald

Trump has not continued or taken action like he said he would like to happen. After talking to

Gregory Blakesmith, a high school Biology and History teacher at Perry High School, he believes won’t do anything about the death of Jamal. “Absolutely not, they (Saudi

Arabia) give us most of our oil supply.”

This has been a hard thing to grasp all across the world affecting journalists that looked up to him and knew him as a friend. He was very inspirational and he did what was right, despite what he was told or threatened with by the Saudi Arabian government when he still lived there.

Donald Trump said he would get justice and still has not done anything, shocking many who thought he actually might do something. Many are still hurt and in shock about the death of

Jamal, still confused on who did this to him. We hope to receive answers and justice for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi and may he rest in peace.
