Addison Hillan, “Antonio Brown’s Apology is Fake”

It’s easy to be a fan favorite, but it’s easier to be the biggest controversy in the game. All of the talk has been about free agent, Antonio Brown, in the past 24 hours; the once best in the league. Now, the talk and rival of the NFL. What do the fans think, but more importantly, what does the media think? Brown was a powerhouse on the football field but a man with poor character off of it. The sixth round pick in the 2010 has previously made some poor decisions and judgements that put him in an unfortunate situation, much like previous settlements that made fanatics and teams question his morals. The player that felt victimized by the league, but seemed to be in it for himself and only himself. During his last NFL season with the and with this current season, Brown allegedly did not show up for the final game with the Steelers, practices and team meetings which started the spark of the controversy. This obviously upset many. People felt betrayed and hurt by Brown’s actions. It showed what kind of professional Brown was. A quitter. He quit on his team, proving the point of being in it for himself. After Brown was traded to the Raiders, things worsened for his career. Brown attacked former teammate, JuJu Smith-Schuster with a smug tweet.

“Emotion: boy fumbled the whole post season in the biggest game of year ! Everyone went blind to busy making guys famous not enough reality these days ! by the way check the list”

The once impeccable athlete, now potentially the biggest fool known to the NFL. Smith-Schuster never mentioned a negative comment about his former teammate and now Brown has to live with this mistake. Which still does not help his current situation.

Brown recently posted a long-winded apology on his social media accounts. The media is having a heyday. https://www.instagram.com/p/B5veOHNhHd4/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link “First and foremost, I’d like to apologize to my family, friends and anyone who I offended,” Brown said. “I never once meant to make anyone feel like I wasn’t thankful and appreciative of the opportunity that I was afforded to play the game I love. I’ve worked hard over the years to earn a chance to compete in the greatest game on earth. Over the years I was met with challenges and I can honestly say I didn’t handle those challenges in the manner that I should have. Over the past few weeks I’ve had the opportunity to think about everything that’s transpired and I am deeply sorry to all who I’ve offended. While my behavior was inexcusable, sometimes when people are coming at you with false information and allegations, we handle ourselves in ways that we sometimes regret. I do take full responsibility for my actions and I’m working everyday to repair what I broke. I do know that if I’m ever given the opportunity to play the game that I love, I’m going to work extremely hard to show the world how much I appreciate another chance. To the organizations that I offended, I offer my sincere apology to you and my hope is that you forgive me and help me move on from this minor setback. I look forward to competing and helping a team reach their goals.”

Was this a minor setback? Or is Brown too far gone to ever bounce back and recover his name and glory in the NFL?
